Im not saying he existed therefore true claim of divinity. You are changing the entire conversation.
I agree with you. I just donât see the merit of pointing out that we arenât sure that either Jesus or Plato existed, but perhaps there is more evidence of Jesus.
Not necessarily, it could all be a simulation started 20 seconds ago
My point is this is what is called tactical scepticism. Hyper sceptic of all claims for certain things. Its a very common thing. For example patriotism has no logical foundation and it was certainly artificially created by modern nation states as a way to destroy the feudal order. But if you went up to the average atheist and told them love of country was as metaphysical as belief in God they would not internalize that or have a logical reason why they love America but reject other forms of metaphysical idealism.
Google Prester John.
Agree. Even among religious people. Iâd say most people make exceptions for their religion, or no religion generally.
They could have good reasons to be patriotic, or not so good reasons (given they are patriotic). Good (and demonstrable) reasons would be things the country provides to them.
Can God make a rock too heavy for Him to lift?
But it isnât.
What does that have to do with rape or taxes? I say rape is objectively wrong because no one wants to get raped. Not even rapists. Rapists donât believe rape is right or good; they just donât bother to care about that or, they do it because it is wrong.
If there was something God couldnât do he would cease to be God. So the question is what is called a logical absurdity. The question is invalid. Can God create a square circle? No because a square canât be circle. That isnât a challenge to omnipotence it is a question that is logically absurd.
Can God make himself not God? Again if he amde hismelf not God he couldnât be God because God canât be contingent and if he is then he ceases to be God. And God is eternal so that is a logical absurdity.
So to simplify, let us give another example.
You have a gun that can shoot through anything. And a shield that can protect from anything. What happens when you shoot that shield with that gun?
Answer: there is a contradiction in question. Either gun can shoot through anything or shield can protect from anything. They cannot coexist. This would mean that one of the statements is not true.
God is not bound by logic or science. Just because you canât see a way doesnât mean He canât make one.
A square circle canât exist that is a paradox. This is fundamentally the issue. Asking can God not exist is again a paradox as he is eternal and ever living. This is actually the pillar of the question. Can God create something that makes him cease to be all powerful? God is all powerful so how can such a thing exist?
Idk man! You started comparing rape to taxes! I never mentioned rape. You said anything we donât like doing is wrong. I said i disagree, i hate taxes but theyâre not wrong. I merely disagreed with your definition. Jeez,
Then you kept bringing up rape. Stop ![]()

Doesnât mix with
Quran 2:42. And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know
Funny how they mix the arguments when it suits them isnât it. Need a haq and batil detector.
Whether a particular portion is corrupted or not is open to guessing and interpretation

MUHAMMAD IN THE BIBLE by
PROF. DAVID DAVID BENJAMIN KELDANI BENJAMIN KELDANI
B.D., a Roman Catholic (BISHOP OF URAMIAH )
I read it but it was mostly over my head, Iâm not very familiar with the Bible. You might enjoy it
I think it touches on this verse youâve raised, I tried checking, but couldnât remember where it would be
I think he could be amongst those that would benefit from reminders
Quran 51:55
My aim is to tire confuse and weaken the petty, fearful, animalistic side of man. Not to harm or destroy it
This way was sent as a guidance and a mercy, thatâs also how it spreads
Thanks for the offer and information. But if I am reading spiritual literature it will be the Bible, or apologies by others who believe the Bible. I consider myself a student of the Bible who can never graduate. I believe in the inerrancy of the Bible, so why investigate literature that doesnât?
I think you could be convinced that the Qurâan came from God. You have to believe the Torah and pslams and Gospel are from God to be a Muslim. The message of Monotheism actually makes so much sense if you accept Islam as another revealed scripture from God.
This way you donât have the contradiction of the trinity and it is the same core message given to Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. All of the same Prophets all of the same stories. People were given the message to worship God alone and to be righteous and do good deeds. People corrupted the message, they began to worship messengers. Islam claims for itself the final revelation and the seal of the Prophets.
And you will certainly find that the people most hostile against the believers are the Jews and the ones who ascribe partners to Allah. You will certainly find that the closest of them in friendship with the believers are those who say, âWe are Christians.âThat is because among them there are priests and monks, and because they are not arrogant.
I consider myself the same with the Quran, I can relate
You obviously donât have to. It could make sense if a similar student were to look for errors in the investigated literature and/or using it as (an) opening(s) to spread the word
