I went to get a sample of the smokey mountain stuff but every time I go to pay for the shipping, I get some weird security warning and can never get through. Anybody else had this problem? I’d like to atleast give it a try. If it’s even slightly ok… yeah. I need it. I don’t exactly want to lose my jaw either.
Smokey mountain have any sort of a buzz? I know it’s got energy stuff in it, right?

No buzz, nothing. Its just like putting wintergreen flavored dirt in your lip. It’s like you can tell there’s no nicotine in it. Tastes kinda like musty root beer after a while.
It should be available at your local Wal Mart. Every Wal Mart I have been to has had the stuff.
I am currently on the 2 mg Nicorette gum. 5 pieces a day. I have quit for weeks at a time, but then I got the itch, you know? Working landscape last summer didn’t help either. Hopefully I’ll be done by the time this box runs out.

Real men aren’t artists.
Without artists, this world would be BLAND. Who do you think designs sports logos? How about the clothes you wear, or the design of cars you drive, or buildings we live and work in? And guess what? Almost all of them were MALE artists.

Lol at you trying to make him considerate arts with consommation stuff. Some people just dont get it.
Pssst…they are hopeless idiots
[edit] You are in a friggin WEIGHTLIFTING forum in a TOBACCO CHEWING thread.
Shove some Copenhagen up your Canuck twat and see if you get it then, eh?
Thank you, Dr. Strangelove![/quote]
Yeah, no prob. I get it. I’ve used Cope for about ten years now. I’ve tried quitting, but all I’ve accomplished is cutting way back. It’s tough. As an aside, I was part of some class-action lawsuit against the US Smokeless Tobacco Company that I signed up for two years ago after seeing an ad in the San Francisco Chronicle for it. I totally forgot about it until I got a check for $400 in the mail this morning. I went to the bank, deposited that shit and went straight to 7-11 for a fresh tin.

I still dont get it

Try it.
You’ll crack open the tin, smell it, and feel like vomiting. Then, if you’ve got the balls(doubtful), you’ll pack a pinch, spit like a motherfucker for a couple minutes, and wonder why people do this shit. Then it kicks in and you’ve got yourself an addiction.
I buy a can every now and then, use half or most of it, then take a couple months off for my face to heal up. I think I’ll pick one up this week, to help my cut go nice and smooth-like.
I’ve never been able to find Copenhagen around here. Do you guys find it at any particular store?
I actually signed up to the forums after seeing your post (no more lurking for this guy). I feel your pain and have tried to quit multiple times for weak reasons. Chew/dip is much more expensive here in Canada, and we just recently had 34g tins introduced.
The only brands one can buy are Skoal and Cope (Redman as well). Trust me, it sucks. I’ve had Kodiak many times after trips to the US and miss the Bear. I miss him dearly.
Reading this thread motivated me to try to quit, or at least slow down my chewing. Bought a few packs of gum and am trying to use that to help me get through the cravings. Worst part is that the UFC is on this weekend, and I ALWAYS chew during the fights.
Awesome avatar btw- Mirko is my favourite fighter and inspiration for entering MMA.
I quit after Thanksgiving 08 and never looked back. I dipped Kodiak and Cope. After a while I stopped getting the relaxed feeling from it and just figured it wasn’t worth the $15-20 a week just to satisfy a habit.
I still have a chew from time to time if I’m at a concert or golfing with my buddies, but if I buy a can I throw it away when I get home. My biggest obstacle was relearning how to diet without nicotine. Kodiak was always my best friend when it came down to cutting cals. Nothing kills your appetite like a lipper, so now when I diet I actually feel hungry sometimes.
i was up to a tin of copenhagen every 2-3 days. i knew the stores with the freshest tins and bought the 10-packs. i’d often put a chaw of redman in, with the dip. i carried a spit bottle at all times. i worked in a hospital and i’d put a dip in my upper lip and work in the OR for hours at a time swallowing the juice. quitting was the hardest thing ever. i still crave it.
i have a question…someone brought up getting a buzz do you guys still get a buzz after years of dipping? Because I dont get a head rush like i used to now its more habit or if just to calm my nerves. Maybe if ive been drinking all day and throw in a lip it will heighten my buzz.
I also noticed that as soon as I quit dipping, my insomnia went away immediately. When I dipped I would be up until 1-2 am on average. Now that I quit I have a hard time staying up past 11 unless I’m out partying. My training has benefited from this as you might imagine.
I hope this Hooch works out well. Now I have resorted to a cigarette a day. If I can use something herbal that gives me the comfort of a dip then I should be able to quit all tobacco.

I don’t know if it’s related, but this week I have slept like a baby. Head hits the pillow and the next time I’m conscious is the alarm going off. Today I got a scheduled run, time to see if 4 days off the stuff makes a difference with my wind.
