I’m quitting because I don’t want to die. I looked up oral cancer and almost puked on my keyboard.
And my gf surprisingly didn’t mind if I did it and we were out, she just wanted me to rinse my mouth out with water and chew gum if we were gonna suck face.
once you quit dont ever have another lip again…EVER!!! i quite for 8 months had a long night and someone offered me a lip i took it and am now dipping more than ever, that was about 3 yrs ago, what makes it worse is the fact that one of my close friends dads works for skoal so i get everything for free. Ive been working up to this and starting on monday I will quite cold turkey. I know its lame to set a date and all but im finishing up a really tough summer school class and i feel the anxiety would be too much to deal with quitting now. Good luck to you and ill be a non dipper again in about a week.

Also just for the record:
Dip is not chewing tobacco.
Dip is known as ‘snuff’. Snuff is an americanized version of Swedish ‘Snus’.
This is chewing tobacco:
Much bigger cut than dip and you literally chew it. lol. hence the term ‘chewing’ tobacco.
Dip you just tuck it and suck it. No chewing.
I know that, but if i put up ‘has anyone quit dip’ some people might be like wtf is dip? alot of guys I know just call it snuff/Grizzly/Kodiac/Cope etc. I also have used Red Man in efforts to stop dipping… lol great idea huh?

how long ago did you quit? and how long before you didn’t get the urge to explode/break something because of no nicotine?
Two of my friends in high school showed signs of mouth cancer after a couple years of chewing…
Ive quit chewing a couple times, quit smoking a couple times, all with 2 years nicotine free each time. It depends, my first time after 5 years of smoking it took 30 days, the second (and hopefully last) time it took 60 days before I stopped thinking about it. EACH TIME, the worst part is about 2 weeks after quitting, its like nicotines final hope for itself.
I just reminded myself over and over again how GOOD it feels to break away from addiction… even if its just chew, its a heavy burden to bear when you go out of your way all the time for it. The guilt that comes with it sucks too.

I just looked up pictures as well on google which caused me to throw out the tin I bought before work today. Quitting dipping won’t be that big of a problem, but stopping smoking sheesha through my new hooka might be.

This. So bad.
The first three days make you want to cry and murder someone. The about two weeks later your mind starts playing tricks on you. Your addiction starts using the reasons you quit to try it again…
I always, always had/have some smokes within arms reach. That way I know when I don’t light one, I have truly beat it.
It gets a lot better after 30 days, and after 60 it’s smooth sailing with minimal intermittent thoughts; no real cravings though.
I am going on week 4 of being dip-free(and yes I know its not “technically” called dip, but everyone iive met calls it dip despite what wiki says) and I am still getting the cravings. This is my third time quitting and is by far the easiest although like others have said the first 3 days are incredibly hard. I liken it to the feeling you get when youve been up for 3 days straight, havnt eaten anything, and want to just stab whoever looks at you. Multiple that feeling by about 100 and thats what its like the first few days cold turkey. After that though it gets much easier, although the cravings will still be there.

Yeah one of my former teammates tried to use that stuff while quitting. It didn’t help, and he ended up back on the chew.
Guys who are trying to quit, read up on anti-depressants. There’s a certain brand that will give your brain the same feedback loop that nicotine has. People who used that anti-depressant with nicorette gum and counseling had something like a 65% rate of quitting smoking compared to those with only conseling who had a rate of like half that. (Not word for word, but I read it in Malcom Gladwell’s Blink or The Tipping Point)

Without artists, this world would be BLAND. Who do you think designs sports logos? How about the clothes you wear, or the design of cars you drive, or buildings we live and work in? And guess what? Almost all of them were MALE artists.
Everyone, you can have your cake and eat it too: I give you SNUS. And no not that pussy Camel Frost shit. Real Swedish Snus. This shit has not been linked to any health problems because it is steam cured and not flame cured like American dip and chew.
I went to get a sample of the smokey mountain stuff but every time I go to pay for the shipping, I get some weird security warning and can never get through. Anybody else had this problem? I’d like to atleast give it a try. If it’s even slightly ok… yeah. I need it. I don’t exactly want to lose my jaw either.
Smokey mountain have any sort of a buzz? I know it’s got energy stuff in it, right?
