I’m in New Zealand
Ummmm … I’m on your good side right? ![]()
Of course. You’re a nurse! Like an angel with scrubs instead of wings.
.
I’m actually an ultrasound tech. But I’m going to assume that puts me under the same blanket of protection. Lol. More of an angel in scrubs with an artistic eye. ![]()
Yes. You have to care for/protect the people that help when you’re hurt.
I’ve had such strange (to me) or interesting interactions with ultrasound techs since the heart stuff began.
Stress/echos are just so wierd to me.
Hmmm. Please explain.
Ok. So the exam room is small. Just big enough for a treadmill & ekg, and an exam table with an echo tech & kit.
I go in undress to just running shorts & shoes, lights quite dim, while a female doc (kinda pretty too!) 2 nurses and an echo tech cheer me on as I run through the different increments. Just as I’m giving it all I got, they start cheering- “Yeah! Go! You got it! Just a little more!..” then jump up on to the table, curl up into fetal position and get my side chest slathered with sono-goo and a little wand jammed around the left chest area.
Its kinda unusual. Not complaining at though!
.
Written intended with humor and respect. I know that kind of imaging is very important. Hope its recieved that way as well.

I don’t do echo, but it’s pretty similar to when I used to do arterial scans. But most of my patients were like 90. So it was more of a slow meander. Lol. But yes, those rooms are tight and yes it’s pretty up close and personal. Now go in one day and tell them you are having sharp pain in a testicle and you will REALLY get the up close and personal experience. ![]()

“We’re going to use a scope to see if there are any obstructions…” ![]()
Remember those Stretch Arm-Strong dolls?
I had a stress/ct done a couple weeks ago after shoveling snow (i know…) and stuff triggered a prolonged episode of angina.
It wasnt the same. Felt kinda empty.

Have you ever had a testicular ultrasound?
I have not. I hope to avoid that for any and every possible reason.
Wait. Is it in any way analogous to the running part of the stress echo? ![]()
Lol. Then definitely don’t ever tell a doctor that you have sudden onset testicular pain. I mean, unless you do. Then do. Quickly.
Yeah. A guy I know had a torsional thing on one of his nutz. Almost lost it!
It is not. But you get to lay down with your pants around your ankles, your penis strapped to your lower abdomen with a towel and a little washcloth hammock holding up your balls. Then you get warm gel squirted all over your scrotum and a camera rolled over it for about 30 minutes.
Yeah. I’ve seen a couple of those. Not sure I’ve ever seen someone in that much pain before.
Don’t leave us hanging! Get to the good part?
Is that when the severe looking lady comes in with the shiny chrome…

Lol. To be honest it’s leg veins that are more… exciting for men.
Now I just do OB. No more uncomfortable situations for me. Lol
This is lovely. No doubt caused by me mentioning a couple things. Appreciate you all.
Sorry. The derail was my fault.
