Just wondering if anyones ever tried Monavie
its an Asci-berry supplement, supposed to have
a high ORAC level, and also has some gluclosamine
in it.
Clearly its not as good as its advertising which
almost states it as the greatest supplement that
was ever and will ever be invented. but would
anyone recomend it? I have tried it picked up a
month supply and gave it a go but I was already
eating pretty healthy before that, so didnt really
notice much.
One thing I didnt like was it
wasent a quantifiable addition to anything
as in the package didnt really say what you where
getting, so if you where on a diet you couldnt really
use it to get your protion of whatever because you
dont know how much it has…
anyway that was what I thought, anyone else?
also I thought it was a little on the expensive side,
more for me since im in Australia and its US based
tho with the exchange rate as it is, it may end up
cheaper soon :O)
lol I figured as much, ok lemme get this right
Monavie is on a multi-level marketing scheme
and Pyramid schemes a virtually the same as MLM’s
although a suttle difference, namly the fact that
Pyramid schemes can’t work long term and the people
that join latter always loose makes a Pyramid illegal.
Uhhh, I get why a Pyramid is illegal but what makes a MLM different?
ohh wait I found the answer…Bless Wikipedia
Legitimacy
It is sometimes difficult to distinguish legal and reputable MLMs from illegal pyramid or Ponzi schemes. MLM businesses operate in the United States in all 50 states and in more than 100 other countries, and new businesses may use terms like “affiliate marketing” or “home-based business franchising”. However, many pyramid schemes try to present themselves as legitimate MLM businesses.
In the most legitimate MLM companies, commissions are earned only on sales of the company’s products or services. No money may be earned from recruiting alone (“sign-up fees”), though money earned from the sales of members recruited is one attraction of MLM arrangements. If participants are paid primarily from money received from new recruits, or if they are required to buy more product than they are likely to sell, then the company is a pyramid or Ponzi scheme, which is illegal in most countries.
New salespeople may be required to pay for their own training and marketing materials, or to buy a significant amount of inventory. A commonly adopted test of legality is that MLMs follow the so-called 70% rule which prevents members “inventory loading” in order to qualify for additional bonuses. The 70% rule requires participants to sell 70% of previously purchased inventory before procuring new orders. There are however variations in interpretations of this rule. Some attorneys insist that 70% of purchased inventory should be sold to people who are not participants in the business, while many MLM companies allow for self-consumption to be a significant part of the sales of a participant [1]. The Federal Trade Commission offers advice for potential MLM members to help them identify those which are likely to be pyramid schemes.
Ughhh i cant stand this shit. Some of my good acquaintances/friends got caught up in this shit. They hear shit like, “yeah man you lose weight and feel so much better after eating monavie…blah blah…”
This shit is bunk. Another pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes just evolve as years pass. Back in the 90s you got PAID to surf the net lol (remember that shit you late 90s guys?) then it was get paid to stuff envelopes or sell knives and now everyone is trying to get “healthy” in this obesity epidemic and no one wants to change their lifestyle so they get caught up in this shit.
Its almost evil. Not only that, monavie is damn expensive. A person tried to sell it to me saying it was something like 40 bucks to try and 100 or 120 bucks for a months supply. Ridiculous…get the fuck out.
Eat blueberries or REAL Acai that you can get from any health food store for much cheaper. Im not saying it doesnt work or that monavie itself is garbage but i doubt its worth the price.
My sister bought me a bottle she got from a friend at her work. Chilled it, poured it in a wine glass (as I don’t drink) and sipped it watching We Own The Night…
Taste? Not too bad… Worth what was asked? Not a penny. Rather drink POM actually…
That shit tastes amazing… As for Monavie? save your $.
I’ve been exchanging e-mails with one of the “diamond” distributors of this stuff who claims that it has an ORAC score of 4,000 - 5,000 per 4 ounce serving (my wife got sucked in to this nonsense and so now it’s personal). At $40/bottle with each bottle containing 25 oz., well, you can do the math. People are making ridiculous claims about this stuff that might have even made Ponce De Leon take note.
I told her there are greens powders with a higher ORAC score (including, if you didn’t already know, one on this site) that sell for less than $1.50 per serving.
One of my friends tried getting me to do this a while ago. He made all sorts of outrageous claims and bullshit trying to get people to sign up so he’d make a little cash. It’s a complete waste of money and all you’ll annoy all of your friends and family members pushing this “great business opportunity.”
Obviously you guys are not drinking the real Monavie. I lost my arm in a trgic chainsaw juggling accident. After drinking Monavie for 3 weeks my arm grew back.
