Any Sunglasses Afficionados Among Us?

Wow, thanks for all the comments so far gang. I should have been a little more specific in my opening post.

As JPCleary mentioned, weight is a factor for me as well. I’d like to go lightweight if I can. Although if I need to go glass lens to get the clarity I want, I’m willing to go that route.

It’s interesting to me that some people have issues with the Maui J lenses as far as squinting or strain and others have that problem with all other lenses they try. I’ve read that on a few sites so far.

Let me compare some pricing tonight and I’ll be back. Perhaps I can squeeze more than one pair into my budget.

i heard Police were good

Does anyone wear their sunglasses at night?

You know— so you can, so you can…

To reiterate what others have said, polarized is the only way to go.

I had a pair of Oakley Fives 3.0 with the bronze lenses and they were awesome for lifeguarding or anything outdoors. They held up really well with falling off the guard stand, and being left in the pool overnight several times after I would get thrown in. The arms would just snap back in if they came apart (one guard always tried to get me in a choke hold, the creeper), which was convenient.

Surprised no one has mentioned Smith Optics. They are less expensive than Oakley and just as good.

Oakleys, I love the straight jackets. I bought a pair at the Camp Liberty PX in Baghdad in 2007. They cost me almost $300.00 because they were prescription. I can’t wait to get the half jackets from usstandardissue.gov before my next deployment.

I’ve got a pair of prada glasses, they aren’t flashy dickhead ones lasted me the past 2 years. I generally manage to break anything I own pretty quickly as I have gone through 3 watches in this period, two blackberrys and two nokias
