I was wondering if any anabolic steriods lower the immune system because I have an autoimmune disease that requires me to take corticosteroids to lower my immune system but every time im on them every bit of muscle i work to build gets eaten away very fast. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
No. Cortisone steroids are used to treat many different conditions. They are a “catabolic steroid” -they cause tissue breakdown. Anabolic steroids are the reverse of these. Taking them could in fact, cause an exasperation in your autoimmune condition by actually simmutaneously increasing your immune functions and inhibiting the effect of cortisone steroids at the receptor sites.
