collective is right - mine used misteltoe during the yule to ward off evil spirits. and holly in the house for good luck. and brought a tree in the house during the winter solstice to signify life everlasting.
Spring brought the fairies and the May day celebrations that resulted in January births.
you should post a pic of your ass in this thread to please the gods.

It is, indeed.
Endor was also a Canaanite city; located between the Hill of Moreh and Mount Tabor in the Jezreel Valley.
Spielberg is, after all, a nice Jewish boy. He made many, many references to Israel and Judaism throughout his movies. Kind of an inside joke, I guess.

Errr…Speilberg has nothing to do with return of the jedi and ewoks or Endor.
Don’t the other half of the people that debate Endor’s original whereabouts place it at Khirbet Safsafeh?
The Endor witch just goes to show that nothing good comes of seances. ![]()

How did we get from church goers to Ewok’s?

But George Lucas is Jewish.

What if you were born into a cannibalistic tribe in the South Pacific? Do you really think you “internal moral compass” would point you in the same direction as it does now? Or course not. The fact is, you grew up in a society who’s laws and ideals were originally based on Judeo-Christian law.
Most of the civilised world believe in a good chunk of 10 Commandments.
You don’t have to believe in God, but you can’t deny how much you’ve been influenced by his followers.
George Lucas is not Jewish.
George Lucas was raised as a Methodist with a strongly Protestant family background and describes himself as being a “Buddhist/Methodist” whatever that is.
The whole “jedi lore” thing is heavily based on eastern religions - not Judaism.

Shit, I’m sorry. I could have sworn both he and Spielberg were Jewish, hearing that somewhere. Well, crap. ![]()
Buddhist Methodist? Sort of like a Christian Mystic?
Buddhist and a Methodist, not together I think.
Jedi based on eastern philosophy makes a lot of sense. I’d hear Yoda and say “oh he’s Indian for sure”. lol

Hell no. No one under the age of 25-30 goes to church in Ireland. A tiny % of that age group are any way religious.
Found out about the tooth fairy, santa & the easter bunny when I was around 6. Stopped the Religion/god stuff when I was around 13/14.
Do people start going around a certain age, or do you suspect those numbers will be moved up to 30-35 in 5 years?
Religion is really just dying out rapidly in Ireland TBH. The older generation of around 60-70 years+ still go to church and are reasonably religious but it’s rare to find someone young who is any way into religion. Kids generally stop going to church whenever their parents stop making them go, which is around 12-14 years old.
Yes, I would definately think that the number of people attending church in Ireland will drop in the next 5 years.
There will be no Irishmen to drink with in heaven? How boring!
Probably not but you can join us down in hell for a scotch if you get bored.
That avatar is fucking hilarious BTW!

You’re right it makes none.
Makes just as much to say “oh yeah he’s a Rabbi for sure.” lol
Makes more sense when you hear yoda and think Koan spouting, Bhuddist master or Daoist lineage holder.
Perhaps if we narrow it down from Eastern to Oriental or maybe even East Asian?
I celebrate Thor’s day, mostly by doing hammer curls and doing plenty of smashing.
