Any Californians on Fire?

Best of fortune to all of you affected by the fires. Every area has some sort of prevalent natural disaster. It’s hurricanes where I live. Just finished building my post Katrina house last Christmas.

My heart goes out to all of you affected by the fires.

Hey Gerdy,

Hope everything is still under control over there.

Good luck and keep safe.

Everything is now under control and I believe the fire is out where I am located.

Other parts of orange county are still burning, but I believe the majority of it is contained.

Thank you all for your kind words and support. That was a close one! lol

Crazy I can see the hill where the fire did burn and it’s maybe 300-500 yds from my place. A good note is that Brea, the city in which I live, lost ZERO structures so the firefighters did an AMAZING job there. Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, and some other parts of Orange County lost some structures tho and I hope the people who lost their homes find comfort and get to rebuilding quick. Living in a ‘center’ or hotel for a while does not sound fun to me. :S

I’m not near the fire but the smoke carried over here causing burning of the eyes and ash rain. Whats worst is that I can’t do my sprints
in this condition. I’ll have to wait a week. Fuuuck.

No excuses! Go buy a mask and do your sprints.

Just send Arnold to fight the fire.

I am out here in Woodland Hills, taking care of things for my late brother, and what a suprise I got when I woke up Saturday morning. There was ash everywhere. I left the top down on the car, and needless to say there was ash all in the car.

Calif. is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live here. Good luck with your home Gerdy.

im here with ya man…these fires are something else…where do you train?

I should have checked this thread sooner. Anyway my GF and I got stuck at my house in Orange all weekend because all the freeways to possibly take back to her house were all closed. Luckily the fire didn’t get far enough into Corona to get to her house.

I train at the various 24 hr fitness, mainly in Brea because it’s just minutes from my place. I also hit up Koloseum Gym on occasion as well.

I know man and the streets were packed with people when the freeways went down.

My boss lives in Corona Valley and he said that it was blue sky’s but smelt like smoke. Go into OC and it looked like a bomb went off lol.

I think they have the majority of it contained now…

Yeah the amount of smoke you could see in the skies from my house was crazy.

I’ve been thinking about getting a 2nd gym membership and was considering koloseum because most of the 24hrs I know of don’t have enough equipment or heavy enough DBs etc…how you like Koloseum?

Koloseum is SICK! if you want a hardcore environment and to be surrounded by bodybuilders its awesome. Great equipment and heavy ass weights too.

They are not open 24hr. You pay for just that gym membership.

I can only afford one membership now so I went with 24 but I go to koloseum on guest passes occasionally. I had a membership a while back. I plan on getting one next semester because my work will pay for my LA fitness membership, so I will be alternating between those two gyms.

That’s what I heard through a friend who knows Milos. That there are tons of bodybuilders there and the environment is hardcore. I would probably already be training there if it weren’t totally out of the way for me to go to. For now I’m just going to start bringing a chain with me to my gym to hang more weights on all the machines.
