Anxiety and Irritability Getting Worse on TRT

When one changes dosage or changes injection frequencies, levels will be in flux for 6-8 weeks, during this time you will feel good on and off. So if you increased your dosage within the last 6-8 weeks, levels may not be stable.

So you’re saying it’s completely normal to feel like complete shit after feeling great for 3? I changed t IM 3 weeks ago. Dose was same. So you think it will work itself out soon?

It is completely normal to feel like shit, week number 3-5 is always the worst for me. Everyone has to deal with the ups and downs after changing dosages. Change the dosage again, and it starts all over.

So you have 3 more weeks before levels are stable and at 8 weeks to should feel the full benefits of this protocol. By choosing a once weekly protocol, you are seeing larger peaks and troughs, so these fluctuations will be exaggerated.

I experience no fluctuating levels on daily injections because these peaks and troughs are tiny, but once weekly is like going on Colossus at Six Flags, you go up and you do down over and over again.

Those who are sensitive to these fluctuations will never feel good on weekly dosing, for me it got worse as more time passed and soon it felt as though I wasn’t even on TRT anymore.

I do feel as if I’m not on it. Either that or feel it’s too much possibly. Feel sick. Should I stick with E3days or go to EOD? Or would that start my 8 week process over, even at same dose? I’ve also been on same dose for 11 weeks. Just went to IM and maybe that messed with things?

It starts all over when you change anything about your protocol, you peak within 48 hours and change to dosage or the delivery method changes how you body responds to TRT. Anytime you force your body to adapt to a change, it will take 6-8 weeks for your body to adjust.

If only our bodies were like microprocessors being able to make adjustments on the fly, TRT would be a breeze.

That amounts to a change in protocol, SQ absorption is slower and steadier than IM, now your body must adapt to that change.

EThat’s horrible. Even when you increase your dose you can feel that way? I’ll never adjust again lol. I can’t believe how bad it makes you feel. I felt incredible for 3 straight weeks and then this. That was after changing my protocol. IM I thought was what I need all along but then hit a wall. It’s been 3 weeks E3 days at 60 mg. I definitely won’t adjust until week 9’to be safe. I also notice a sense of well being right after I inject but then it seems to go to shit hour later. I’m dying to feel normal

I wonder if I’m an outlier and need a huge dose?

So do you suggest trying EOD if this don’t work or dose adjustment. I have higher SHBG

I almost feel as if since my body is shit down I’m not getting enough test

I will assume that was sarcasm. Here is some back:

Somebody has to.

I find it absolutely astounding how some of you ask a direct question, get the correct direct answer back, but then seem to continue asking, “What should I do?”

@systemlord is also providing the correct answer here where 6-8 weeks to assess is crucial.

I’m not sure what the issue is. Are you waiting for the answer you want to hear or are you waiting for the CORRECT answer? The correct answer has been provided numerous times.

I recorded this video yesterday. In the middle I discuss how changing your protocol anytime before that is just a lesson in futility. It will take you forever to get dialed in.

It’s a short video that you should surely find helpful. You can start watching from the 5:22 mark:

Your levels will be helpful, guessing leads to suffering if you make changes without knowing where you are. I’m thinking moderate doses are problematic for you, it wouldn’t be the first time I seen a high SHBG guy sensitive to fluctuations causing depression and/or anxiety, but if you had these prior TRT, TRT may not cure all mental problems.

Some men have a certain gene that makes TRT painful and a struggle because of it. I never has had feeling after an injection, only when levels were low at the end of the week.

If in 6-8 weeks you still feel unwell, daily or EOD dosing may be needed. I’ve never seen a case where EOD didn’t work well for high SHBG men, even daily has worked well for some.

You can make that statement even simpler. Can you think of even one time that daily did NOT work for someone? I can’t. If you’re trying to troubleshoot this kind of thing, NOTHING beats daily. It’s a pain in the ass, I get it, but it works.

But you can’t answer why someone would feel good for 3 whole weeks, feel bad day before injection, inject and still feel like shit, inject today and then feel good afterwards. It makes no logical sense. I get not changing shit, which I haven’t but can’t get any real feedback on why that would be. If it’s hormomal, why 3 weeks of nothing but good and then hit a wall? That’s what I’m trying to figure out. What causes the ups and downs after such a long time? This isn’t just feeling bad, this is worse prior to TRT by a long shot. Wanting to quit type shit. I guess what I’m getting to is you’re telling me that it’s normal to feel good for 3 weeks, hit a wall, for days? It just doesn’t make sense to me. I have no good days at all. Hormones fluctuate and don’t see how after feeling good so long that would feel bad for so long when nothing has changed. Once again I get it takes time and not changing things but I don’t get that

I’ll copy paste from above.

Throw the AI in the garbage.

Try the 160mg a week doing as close to daily shots as you can.

There is also a small possibility that you have an intolerance to the type of oil that you are using. If it gets to the point that you’re having a hard time figuring it out, try switching to a different oil entirely. Keep in mind that cypionate and enanthate are pretty much interchangeable for trt use.

Intolerance after that long? I just don’t see it

I actually feel pretty good now after injecting today. It’s been 2 hours so I have no idea. One other thing is I haven’t been sleeping and know that’s not helping. Feel so bad haven’t had good sleep. Wake up feeling drained. No appetite either

Great. Keep doing it that way. I’m giving you a list of things that it could be so that if you have a hard time figuring it out you have some ideas even though some of them may be a small possibility. Considering you want to immediately rule out all of the small possibilities, it doesn’t leave you with very much left to try. What I do know is that back in my anxiety days I would give myself anxiety worrying about having anxiety. If you are giving yourself a shot and then saying I still feel okay 2 hours later part of your brain is probably thinking that you may not feel well an hour from now and that’s going to give you anxiety. Like I said in the video I just posted, taking testosterone is not like drinking an espresso and does not have an immediate effect.

@cp1217
I switched from sub-q to IM same total dose and felt like shit for 6 weeks and felt great by week 8. At week 6 I was thinking IM wasn’t for me even though I knew from the last 50 changes that it always takes me 8 weeks. It’s a mental thing and we want better now. You see it said here in basically every thread. If you change something it’s going to suck before it gets better.

Sometimes it won’t, sometimes it will, it’s always different, and it will affect everyone differently. So just giving it 6-8 weeks is a safe bet. Making changes before this is just delaying the entire process.

I’m on week 3 so we hopefully it’s sooner rather than later. Is it gradual or like you wake up one day and feel normal? Cause feeling like pure ass is totally an understatement

Around week 7 I felt less bad and on week 8 I woke up one day feeling great and it’s lasted ever since. The hard part is keeping yourself from changing shit until it has time to work.

I appreciate it. So is headaches a sign that my levels have went down and I will adjust? I can definitely tell my levels weren’t what they were. This first 2 weeks was pretty damn good. It makes sense.
