Most of my issues were sexual, ie anorgasmia and anhedonia. No significant ED issues, just went numb and couldn’t get done. The last week I was on injections it was like holy shit I’m going to be a 3 pump chump if it always feels like this. And it was awesome after having issues for almost a year. Now I’m kind of somewhere in between. I always still CAN get the job done but at some point it’s still like ok hurry the f up here
Haven’t checked ft3 yet, that and rt3 are next on the list to test. My creme is from Empower so I “think” it’s good. I’ve been pretty consistent feeling wise, just consistently not quite as good as I felt on injections and I’m not sure why.
I had super high shbg (155) I believe from taking finasteride for years, so I’ve always wondered if I react to the extra DHT from creme abnormally. It’s a long shot I know but it’s something I’ve wondered about.
I can go to 200mg a day and see what happens. I mean sooner or later I would run out before I’m due for more but so far they haven’t been too picky about when I order more as long as it’s in the ballpark
I’ll go to 100mg AM and 100mg PM and see what happens.
I’m assuming you suggest I go ahead with ft3 and rt3 testing?
Yeah the numbness/taking forever sucks. One of my friends said it sounded awesome to last forever… not so much after you’ve dealt with it for a little while.
Will do. I’m due for a follow up w/Dr. Saya between now and the next 30 days, so I think he’ll also suggest looking at those anyways given my TSH keeps going up
The good part about him requesting it is I can get insurance to pay for the lab work
I did find my bloodwork from about a year ago where TSH was 2.0 and my ft3 was 3.2 [2.0-4.4]. So kind of middle of the road, and not really super relevant since it was a year ago and TSH doesn’t tell a lot of the story. But the energy increase, etc. that I got at the beginning of TRT is mostly gone. I’m dragging ass in the mornings again, so I have a feeling thyroid meds will be my next venture
So yeah, going to go ahead with 200mg/day starting tonight and book a visit w/Dr. Saya to get thyroid labs going and see if he has any other ideas
OP Sounds a bit like me, I just made a thread about being moody on injections. I have been fighting to get right for around 10 years or so. Its frustrating to be at the mercy of doctors and this is not a one size fits all type of thing. There is so much knowledge and paths of thinking on TRT and I have learned one thing from all my battles and its to be patient and be willing to try things but give the body time to adjust.
I was really, really moody when I was on anything under 200mg a week. Once I got over that amount, my wife commented almost immediately that she saw a change in my mood… and it hasn’t changed since.
When people say stuff that makes sense, I’m as nice of a guy than you’ll ever meet.
When people say stuff that makes no sense, and can’t demonstrate it, I have no filter.
When people say stuff like that as advice to other people, I get pissed.
It’s just who I am. Love it or hate it. I want to help as many guys as I can and I want them to have the best information possible. If someone can demonstrate that I’m wrong on something, and I agree with them, I’ll tell everyone that I just learned a new/better way of doing things. Currently is the best way of doing things I have found so far and the results with the guys I deal with speak for themselves. All for free. Nothing to gain here except some Internet notoriety and some thank you messages in my inbox every day.
No. Once you found a dose that works for you, you set it and forget it. I give myself my daily dose and then don’t think about it whatsoever until the following day. I’m not constantly trying to tweak things anymore. I know what my best protocol is at this point.
I vary the dose every 2ish weeks from 185-200mg. It doesn’t seem to be enough of a difference to matter and truthfully I can’t tell a difference or even why I still do it. I know that @physiolojik does it for all his patients so I started it. It hasn’t hurt anything and erection/libido wise I’m as good as it gets so who knows. I would say though if you aren’t fully dialed in, feeling good and have played with a million different dosages/protocols beforehand it’s probably not something to try.
What’s an optimal free T level? And how do I get it up? Mine went from 5 to 15. I’m on 140 mg weekly in two shots and keep feeling good and then bad. I’ll go few weeks feeling good and few days anxious, depressed, lethargic, etc. bloodwork is good
Will do. It’s been 3 weeks on this switch to IM and dose and felt great and it’s been shitty since last few days. I’ll wait a few more weeks and see f I don’t balance out
Switching SQ to IM amounts to a dosage change, levels will be stable in 3 more weeks, then 2 more weeks and protocol can be judged. Until then you levels are swinging.
Out of the THOUSANDS of patients we are dealing with, there is one common theme: the guys feeling good typically have their free T over 30 ng/dL. The guys feeling GREAT typically have their free T anywhere between 40-60 ng/dL. None of them are using an AI. None of them have any symptoms. The vast majority of them are doing daily or as close to daily administration as possible. This is demonstrable fact over and over and over.
Agreed that exogenous hormones are NOT the end all cure all for everyone. It’s a huge benefit for the majority of men. Here are two videos I did with Dr. Nichols where this subject is discussed at length.
