It’s not hate. It’s just that some of us understand that in the real world, you don’t have to be a Bill Gates to not be ordinary. Your name doesn’t have to be in the newspaper to make a difference. Yes, you can serve coffee for a living and still fucking matter in the world.
Some of us, AREN’T content to sit on our ass and watch teh world pass us by. Some of us DO make a difference in the lives of others, every god damn day. I’m not rich, I’m not famous, but if you you think I don’t matter to quite a few people, you are nuts.
I think the “hate” you are talking about is the fact some people perceive these posts as coming off as the “every man’s champion.” And trying to coddle people into enjoying mediocrity.
Now dude don’t get all defensive, because I’m just speaking here, and not judging or attacking. But I will tell you this: I thank whatever is holy I don’t see the world like:
because I make everyone aware of just how fucking ordinary %99.9… percent of this world is
.
And there are quite a few people on this planet that are also happy I don’t see it that way either.
If someone else is content being ordinary, insignificant and generally a waste of natural resources, fine. But I have never, nor will I ever stop trying to be better tomorrow than I was yesterday, nor will I stop trying to help people around me achieve their dreams. I don’t need my name in the newspaper, I don’t need a book written about me, and I don’t need a million dollars to be someone. But it will be a cold day in hell before I stop trying and resign myself to a life of blah…
That “ordinary” waitress may be a single mom, working two jobs trying to scrape enough money together to feed her kids and give them the education she never had, so that they might actually grow up to make a difference in the lives of others. Well, that isn’t ordinary to me.
But, maybe I’m the one with the twisted up perspective.
