To bring the conversation back to Anthony Roberts: he recently wrote an article arguing that different esters actually do have effects other than simply determining half-life.
Since this goes against conventional wisdom, I wonder what others here think. He cites a number of studies that supposedly support his position.[/quote]
A good read, thanks for posting that. Challenging conventional wisdom is always interesting.

Here’s one of the citations:

Thanks for posting that link. I read the paper very carefully and find nothing in it to support Anthony Robert’s claim that different esters have intrinsically different effects above and beyond determining half-life. (Of course that was only one citation out of 16; maybe the other papers do back him up.)
Part of the problem is that studies such as this one are comparing a single injection of a short ester compound vs a single injection of a long ester compound. The differences in peak concentration and in clearance times would certainly result in differences in HPTA suppression, conversion to estrogen and overall growth.
However, in the real world we don’t do single injections. We inject every day, or every other day or third day or whatever is appropriate for the particular ester we’re using, in order to maintain relatively steady blood levels. So the conclusions drawn from the single injection studies cannot be applied.

That’s why I read the literature, and draw my own conclusions. AR has been known to reach a bit, all in the name of science, of course.

He’s never reached for a god damned thing that didn’t have a dollar attached to the end of it - science is the least of his concerns.

This is hilarious, but completely true. AR was not interested in science for the purpose of furthering knowledge and understanding. His interests were purely economical, and it certainly shows.

HA! I meant it sarcastically, but RJ’s wit trumped me.
