God dammit, why can’t there bands like this today?

I know! I’m ordering a speak english or die t-shirt in the next couple days.

Let’s turn this into a crossover thread.

Municipal Waste

26 Beers

Thanks man. No. I’m serious. Thanks man.

I have to find out why there are NO thrash bands today.[/quote]

Man, you need to find better places to find new bands.

Some Retro Thrash for ya’

have u givena listen to the self titled album, its very catching choruses which is what i want to beat the crap out of waits sinc ehalf the songs are about fighting and being a man:)

Death metal:
SUICIDE SILENCE

WHITE CHAPEL

FROM THE SHALLOWS

all of these are beastly

I agree. People would want to strike me dead, but Agalloch has put out about 4 or 5 exceptional albums, and Pink Floyd really only hit their lasting influence with 2 albums.

The song “Odal” from “The Mantle” is quite possibly one of the most amazing pieces of music ever written.

Oh yeah, I thought I’d throw this one in there too:

Agalloch >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>xinfinity Opeth

I know that’s not really fair since, Opeth was a Death Meta band, but there’s been alot of comparisons between the two and its funny to read the YouTube comment box fights between both bands’ fans on their videos, ha ha ha.

Breaking benjamin - Blow me away

Probably extremely old news, but it still does it for me. Just stand ready to my squats waiting for the part “only the strongest will survive”.

o yeh and if u like rap then check out atmosphere, in fact u all should check him out i hate rap but i bought two of his cd’s, get the song- trying to find a balance

sometimes the steady beat of rap is good in btw sets get u in the zone

Have you guys ever listened to am I blood? or nailgunner? or impluse?

I’ve been trying to find impulse’s music forever.

I’m going to have to disagree with you

Opeth wrote Moriningrise.

Hell, Opeth wrote the song When

Mikeal wins.

What the hell. I went five pages back to find a music thread. Just to mention the song ‘Falling Down’ by Atreyu. Not worth the journey some might say, but I just want to say…

Firstly, I am amazed by how much the lead singer sounds like Paul Stanley of KISS in this song, and how amazed I am that I still like it anyway. It may be a sin, but I fucking hate KISS, and that’s a whole other post.

Secondly, it may be a bunch of ‘poser bullshit’ and will not rank with the self proclaimed music elitists, but I like it anyway. I mean, I really fucking do.

Thirdly, a preemptive screw you if you don’t agree with me.

Shake it off, shake it off, we’re all dying in the end.

Thought I’d throw the progressive metal band Seventh Wonder out here. The new CD “Mercy Falls” is one of my favorite CD releases this year, if you like Concept albums then definitely check this one out.

Been listening to Death Metal’s evil, scarier sounding cousin, Black Metal:

Melancolia Estatica
Xasthur
Averse Sefira
Drudkh
Burzum

*waits for detazathoth to tell me USBM is FAIL, lol

And some Death Metal too:

Nile
Amon Amarth (new album out Sept. 30th!!!)
Hate Eternal

Remember guys: JUST SAY NO TO BILLBOARD SHIT

Outstanding choice of music. How about some Leviathan, Deathspell Omega, Blut Aus Nord, Glorior Belli…too many to list…

Agalloch > Opeth anyday except rainy autumn afternoons then Orchid is an instant winner.

Got the new Amon Amarth album and it has some very good stuff on it, Tattered Flags & Bloodied Banners for example is a good one to get you going.

Slayer - Angel of Death
Withered - The Midnight Gate (an Icelandic BM band, very good)
Dissection: The whole Storm of the Light’s Bane album with Unhallowed leading the other masterpieces.
Anorexia Nervosa - Mother Anorexia
Heavenly - Evil (power metal)
Keep of Kalessin - Armada

And of course Svartidauði.

Wheatus- Teenage Dirtbag

yea lets take a trip to the 90s

Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal

Cky- 96 Quite Bitter Beings

Korn- Got The Life

Korn- “The Secret Song”

am i forgetting anything?

If you like Dissection…have you checked out Watain yet? They pretty much took over the void left when Dissection became no more (RIP Jon).

I’ve listened to some of their tracks and really like Devil’s Blood for example but I think they lack something Dissection had.

Cassetti - I have to agree with you up until Dissection’s last album. Didn’t like it much at all. Jon was beyond hope by that point.

Yes, Reinakaos was not good at all in my opinion. What are your favorite tracks by Dissection though?

Definitely Night’s Blood (I can play this on guitar) and Soulreaper.

dig NIN as well
