As @vision1 said, if you have room to do rows and RDLs, you can deadlift. This is a perfect example of learning to adapt to what you have. Get your head out of your ass, kiddo.
My garage is only heated by a shitty electric wall heater. I used to train in a wooden shack at my old house, with ZERO heating. I would’ve loved to have had heating, but I didn’t, so I made due with what I had to reach my goals.
Buy some of those multicoloured puzzle mats and lower your deadlifts under control. Or a couple entry mats. There are ways.
Good Point
I’m going to take the bars and plates on the lawn.
Okay plan:
Candito 6 week strength
5/3/1 BBB (6 weeks)
Sheiko beginner 1 cycle
Sheiko intermediate- more of less indefinitely… or until I feel confident enough to do the advanced version\
I know you’re young and 6 weeks might seem like a long time but just pick one program and work with it. No reason to plan on changing programs so frequently.
I haven’t done Candito or Sheiko so can’t comment. I’d pick a system and work with it.
I’ve done both. Candito’s programs, especially the beginner one, isn’t meant to be done indefinitely, neither is 5/3/1 according to pwn (could have misinterpreted him there) . Sheiko is (I think) but having been away from the bb for over a year, I don’t feel comfortable jumping back in so I’m doing those two programs first to get back into things I did something similar when getting back to bb lifting after kidney surgery
I actually would prefer to pick a program and run it indefinitely I just think it might be better to use the two simpler, more beginner friendly programs as a ramp up. the sheiko beginner program isn’t really beginner.
Also, there’s a pair of 44lb adjustable dbs on sale on Amazon for ~250. I have the money, should I splurge?
I won’t be getting the bb until late May (if mum doesn’t reneg) and little bro is coming mid May for at least three weeks (vaccination and visa) so I’ll have to give up the 20lb dbs I have right now.
Idk if mum will be on board with this…
If mum wasn’t here I’d have the bb already…
Also, if I have rubber plates, will I need mats or can I just dl on the concrete
Some good news. Looks like I’m on track to graduate a year early!
I’m thinking about taking some more history courses, studying abroad and Germany for a semester and maybe auditing a couple of higher level maths senior year
Do this is you have the chance. It’s one thing I regret not doing in college (I got into the final round for a research internship in Germany my sophomore year but didn’t quite make it). And don’t limit yourself to Germany. Most places in the EU would be okay.
Auditing higher level math would be interesting but likely not worth it. I would just buy the textbooks or look into MIT’s free online courses in graduate mathematics (my current plan).
