Hot pot is amazing! SiChuan is famous for it, but I find SiChuan hot pot overrated- basically boiling meat in spicy oil.

I prefer Cantonese or Yunan hot pot

Guangdong has the best fish hot pot! There’s also pretty good fish hot pot up north with their ice lakes.
Are you referring to Enoki mushroom? they’re amazing

fixed it :relaxed:
“Road trip” through Asia probably not a good idea, but China has a very nice high speed rail system

Watch the english. This comes off as something a stalker would say :joy:

Ahahha no when o says i know, it is because when i was in China i search also the meat in some special place, and we can also kill them ( the animals) ourselves.

Why a road trip trough Asia is not a good idea ?

I still don’t know, to many places i want to go, i will try for sure to visit 3 country for 2 month. Im thinking about saint Petersburg also and morocco, Kyrgyzstan, …

Iam confused, of course i will check what is also cheap for fly country between country, i even thinking about only japon 2 month and travel a lot in this country.

Iam lost aha

My Chinese friends for enoki mushroom say a other name " see u tomorrow ":upside_down_face:

Road trip typically implies that you’re going by car or bus. Going by car or bus in China is not very pleasant.

The week after Chinese New Year, flights are very very cheap

not sure, the name I know translates to “golden needle mushroom”

Enoki = See u tomorrow, because u can’t digest, not the Chinese translation name :joy: but my chinese friends tell me that the first time i eat, joke with that.

I like train to, i take also the bus when i was going to huangshan mountain, i do my first camping over there ahaha was so fuck up, Chinese help me to put my :tent: tent, i was so noob, still i need to learn, and after it, i forget to take something confortable and when i can sleep, i crazy storm and flooding, People was running in the night everywhere, was do funny and crazy.

I will try to get some video or picture on WeChat, but unfortunately i don’t have so much, Chinese train was also good for smoke, when i was a smoker

you have wechat?

did you go during summer?
In Shanghai, from mid may to mid july, it rains pretty much daily. It’s called “yellow plum flower” season, but it sounds more like “yellow mould season”, which is more accurate since everything goes mouldy

not anymore

:joy: :joy: this is so true!!!

Yeah it was in July x) i was in China one year, for sure i have WeChat, but it was a luck that i was in china (2017) i never guess that i will be in this country, i keep good memories of that, i meet a lot of different peoples Turkmenistan, Yemenite, Russian and so on

I cant post video here, but he was nothing, just a bit video, i wasnt so much taking video in this time.

I will try to research a beautiful Chinese song, talking about the nostalgia of the country side, sad but beautiful song, damnit i forget so much

@kolyma China has some beautiful folk songs for sure. My mum’s been listening to them a lot recently. Do you still use WeChat?

Yesterday: got antsy so tested max push-ups- 109, PR!!!

  • heavier+more push-ups, definitely a win

Week 4 day 4

2x(5/side,5/side,5/side)- 32lbs, intensity modifier, no extra rest btw rounds

  • blasted through this, cutting out the extra rest kept hr up, felt good

Woke up at 102.8 this morning and pretty puffy. Not surprised since I had a pint of cottage cheese and 2servings of prunes before bed. At least the prunes seemed to have worked

Interesting note: I looked at the nutrition info for my canned sardines and realized that it had 1700mg of omega-3s, which is more than my fish oil pills. Good option for coming semesters when I can’t afford or don’t want to prepare fish myself

It’s double the shame for that idiot. Imagine attacking a female and getting your ass kicked. LOL

edit: triple the shame! Elderly!!

Not to get political, but pretty disgusted with all these attacks. Asians are really getting treated poorly in the US these days, nice to see at least one story that warms the heart a little, although I doubt she is happy about being in the center of it.

Yeah, discrimination is just wrong, regardless of who it’s happening to.
Asians are lucky in that racism hasn’t hurt them as much as it has hurt other peoples of colour.

The whole idea of separating ppl based on race is pretty dumb imo. Diversity of ideas seems far more important

My own grandmother always warned me about dating Cantonese chicks. :joy:

Seriously, every time I had a new Chinese girlfriend, she’d ask if she’s Cantonese. I had a Japanese one once and she was like, “Good! When you get married, she’ll cook and tie your shoelaces for you before you go out to work!”.

Since you mentioned you were open to talk about higher ed. I’d like to hear your perspective on the new Google Certs

Hard to say. I have no experience with these types of resouces. I’m very wary of anything involving Google. Besides that, at the very least it doesn’t look expensive, so it’s probably not as much of a cash cow as online master’s programs currently offered by many universities.

THe idea is that these certs may become a cheap alternative to a 4 year degree => potentially disrupt higher ed

I’m not really sure what to think. On the one hand, I’m wondering whether being a professor/researcher will be a viable career in the future. ON the other hand, I think this might be a good opportunity for people who can’t afford, and probably don’t need, to go to university

A college degree is like what a high school diploma was decades ago. When I was in primary and secondary school, we were all told college was the only path. No alternatives were offered. A lot of people end up going to university for the social element and or this pressure, and not because they really wanted a degree. I don’t think we should restrict access to university any more than we already are in the US, but presenting different paths would alleviate pressure on young people. Reviving trade schools isn’t a bad idea, especially as those paths can be lucrative, and they’re always needed.

This seems to contradict your view of more product options = poorer outcomes lol
