That story is truly horrible. They must be seriously deranged and possibly intrinsically evil to do that to a defenceless animal.
Just as a matter of interest, where do people on this thread stand on the issue of abortion?
I dont know the situation in the U.S but it always astounds me in the UK how we constantly hear of outcry against animal cruelty (and rightly so) yet what happens to unborn babies during the process of abortion goes unnoticed.
Seems kind of strange given the fact that if we did the same things to a dog all hell would break loose, again rightly so. Not trying to hijack the thread, its just something thats always confused me.
I was vacationing at the Outer Banks last month, and was taking a walk on the beach. I saw a child about 7 years old playing with something on the ground; he was swatting at it with his shoe.
As I got closer, I saw a little crab in front of him, in a defensive posture. The kid had found a bigger object than his shoe and was about to crush the crab.
I yelled at the child to stop, and told that what he was doing was not nice. He stopped and left looking confused.
If the urge to kill or mutilate for the sake of amusement is a uniquely human trait, we have a lot of work to do as a species to pull ourselves out of the mud.

I believe that abortion is murder, but that it is necessary and permissible as well as a lesser murder than that of a person in later stages of development.
Also, I will not respond to anyone’s responses to this post, so don’t bother.
