And We Were All Overreacting Over BLM?

An organization founded upon lies, hysterics and racist psychotic nonsense. How it’s able to metastasize and flourish is disgraceful. The race baiting slime have this country by the balls. Ironically further hurting the black community. Id relish in the irony if I didn’t see it’s effects firsthand.

I don’t necessarily disagree here. We definitely take on way too much.

I would like to see a collective call on the populace; us included, to do better. Thus far it’s been very one sided and directed at us. Can’t “progress” that way. You’ll only see police withdraw further and nearly flat out refuse to be proactive as to not be another victim of the mob of cowards and degenerates.

Problem is, when you change the rules in a sport there’s a large positive incentive for the new breed to excel. If you want to change the expectations for accomplishment of police then you also have to change the (lack of) incentives.

This works both ways though. If you get told you’re shit and worthless and racist every day for years on end, and then those same people want you to adopt or “try out” their policy ideas, the fuck do you think you’re going to say?

I mean we watched this play out in the political sphere for 3 presidents now, with both Obama and Trump causing the opposite team to dig in their heels at ANYTHING suggested pre covid. We’ve had tons of posts and a number of threads on the incredible polarization in our country. It’s not going to be different with law enforcement.

It’s human nature. You don’t go telling the people you want to negotiate with “fuck you” for years and then expect them to be all smiles. It just doesn’t work like that for ANYONE.

Yea. The last thing I need is some human carp accusing me of being a Klansman trying to tell me how to do this job.

We can’t seem to find any rational sane liberals to dialog with. Biden even suggested shooting extremities. Oof

I agree it takes two to tango. But, who will be the first to start dancing?

To be fair he is a million years old and never been shooting :joy:

Hearing one bad idea, and then not even bothering to listen to further ideas from that direction is unproductive. And that goes for all sides.

The VP-elect is a DA who historically had the backing of police. Do you think she would be a liberal that could sit down with law enforcement and have productive discussion?

We have. We’ve implemented body cams, their dumb shit implicit bias training, stopped responding to certain calls, etc…

At this point, no. Our current Circuit Attorney was once pro police and is now an insane activist with an abysmal prosecution rate and nearly 100% turnover

These idiots are beholden to their insane constituents now.

But Im willing to be wrong. We will see. As of now I think they’ll further hamstring us to appease these loons.

I think that is the point. Many progressives feel that LEOs have too much power, and the culture is too focused on dominating the public interaction, and aggressive tactics. In theory hamstringing what an LEO is allowed or able to do will reduce situations in which aggressive tactics are employed by LEOs.

It seems there is a disconnect between what LEOs think the job is (get the bad guys and get them off the street) and what much of the public wants the job to be (protect the public). Those two goals don’t neccesarily align with each other all the time.

I only know about it from the wiki page. I know there are leaders of certain factions whom are marxist dogs(yes, that’s what I think of marxists lol). It is, however, not a centralized movement. That’s all I know.

He’s watched too many movies. Or soaps. You know these old geezers and their soaps. :joy:

The fact you even ask that is a sign there’s a problem. It’s a stupid idea that defies reality.

To answer the question: nyc.

Name them and then see if they would require more funding, not less.

Ironically, BLM doesn’t.

Barney carried a gun; Andy didn’t. Hmmmmm…

Also, and more importantly, Mayberry had a different demographic.

Not necessarily mutually exclusive though. Violence is off the charts in too many inner cities. Too many of the people dictating our policies are utterly clueless and want us using Silly String and kitten farts to apprehend violent suspects.

I would love nothing more than to see riot cops aim a can of “pepper spray” at a young SJW and coat them with silly string hahahaha.

Totally. They usually compliment each other. But i can think of numerous police shooting videos ive seen where the police were ONLY focused on confronting and/or catching the bad guy and created a situation where it was either the suspect immediately give up, or be aggressively physically subdued or shot… and there was no need for such immediacy.

E.g. a domestic disturbance is called in and when the police arrive the husband hops into his car and tries to drive off. A cop on foot blocks the cars path, and then shoots through the windshield as the car tries to swerve around him.

FWIW, in the day and age of Mayberry, being a cop was more dangerous than it is nowadays.
