Sounds like the only ones who know the real story are the housekeepers who found and then painted over it, and possibly the person who spraypainted it.
But not you. Dont let that stop you from swinging up and hitting him at the knees though.

The goal should be reducing civilian violence.
No, they do go to bars to fight bouncers though. Hell, tonight (the night with the most DUIs every year in america) I GARAUNTEE there will be 100 more injuries to bouncers than all police injuries from the summer riots.
NVM, you are looking for a direct comparison, not an analogy. Big difference.
No security cameras? No one took a photo of it?
We all know it would have been on Twitter or wherever. And housekeepers donāt paint.
It should be to reduce violence period.
Police have the camera footage and wont release it for the same reason they dont release lots of evidence in open cases.
If some loon specifically goes to a bar with the the intent to fight the bouncer, you are saying putting a smaller dude as a bouncer will convince him to back down?
Are you serious?
The smaller calmer bouncer has a better chance of talking him out of it, than the big aggressive bouncer who throws hands at the drop of a hat.
Also, you are treating this like iām making a direct comparison. Its an analogy for why i think the militarization of police forces correlates with a rise in violence. Not all police violence occurs from someone seeking out police (most want to get the hell away from the police). The vast majority of criminals who end up in violent situation with cops either want to get away, or are having a mental health crisis- not unlike a drunk guy at a bar. VERY few instances of folks hunting cops when you look at all violent police encounters.

How do you talk down a guy whoās there just to fight you? Youāre already dealing with a lunatic. You get a bunch of other guys and throw his ass out. What is so hard to understand about this?
If youāre the pub owner, youāre going to want to protect your employees if there are loons going there with the intent to fight them so you either hire bigger, more well trained bouncers, or give your existing ones weapons to defend themselves with.

Iām not making a direct comparison at all.
I already told you this analogy sucked in the first place and actually goes against your point but you just donāt seem to get it.
If the police are being outgunned, of course theyāre going to bring in bigger ones.
Seriously, what in the world is so hard to understand about this?
And when did we move from riot/crowd control to individual criminals in random situations?
I can agree somewhat. Just like police nor whites are āhunting downā black Americans. Thatās possibly the stupidest thing Iāve ever heard. Especially given the massively disproportionate crime rates
Dude⦠No police are kicking in doors for some pot smoking college flunky. Why do you keep repeating that ?
Kicking in a door requires a search warrant or an officer witnesses a violent felony and chases a suspect into a dwelling.
No agency teaches āshoot to kill,ā⦠More uninformed bullshit. You shoot to stop the threat which sometimes results in death.
Itās been a few years.

Some smaller bouncers might think they have something to prove. Some bigger bouncers donāt want to hurt someone who is smaller and drunk.
Or they get scared(the smaller ones) and actually severely injure the guy if heās too big.
mistaken a kitchen knife for a deadly weapon.

Outside of this topic:
Guys and gals, please do not fuck with anyone with a knife. I donāt care if itās a 100lb girl. I donāt care about whatever self defence, knife defence, wing chun, aikido bullshit lessons youāre taken.
Just donāt.
Seriously, donāt.
Yeahā¦you can stop at that post and see that whatever knowledge one side of this debate has on this topic, the other side has none.
I wouldnāt know the exact situation that went down with the SWAT team example since Iām assuming heās referring to a specific incident so I explicitly said this was an off topic comment.
Donāt fuck with people with knives. They ARE deadly weapons.

A ābig aggressive bouncer who throws hands at the drop of a hatā has a good chance of seeing his guts lying on the floor, or taking a bullet outside. Big bouncers tend to be at least as calm as smaller ones, from what Iāve seen.
Doesnāt matter what situation the poster was talking about. A kitchen knife is a deadly weapon.
