I would flip the script here and suggest that the people who created a fake Russian Dossier in an attempt to overthrow an election and force a coup, or anyone who knew it was fake and said nothing along the way should die by public hanging.
I would also suggest that the ANTIFA fucks who used to block access to rallies and voting stations via acts and threats of further acts of terrorism should face similar consequences.
While my personal political ideology likely most closely resembles the January 6th group, they too were out of line in an attempt to disrupt an election. Had they waited for confirmation of a “stolen” election and then planned an attack I might feel differently, but since they essentially took internet rumors as a cue to act they deserve what they get.

Separately, sexual and violent crimes are way too often under sentenced imo, but not comparable.
I would like to see more uniform punishment guidelines in place than what special interest groups and lawyers after winning records have given us.

The people who believe that Jan. 6th was the end of our democracy are in for a sad awakening. The democracy we may have had was stolen a long time ago. We don’t live in a democracy, we live in an oligarchy.
We never had a democracy. It has always been set up as a democratic republic…
