And In Other News

In sadder news;

Personally, this renders all the gun issues and suggestions moot on several levels. I’ve heard discussion of the decay of society being the source for the rise in gun violence and I must say, any shooter that would shoot a man (even a criminal) in the back while he was changing a diaper certainly is sub-human scum and any group of people that wouldn’t lynch the same man for killing the baby is pretty like-minded scum.[/quote]

Chicago at its finest. I was very saddened to hear of this story.

If Republicans do not win back the Senate or gain seats in 2014, or worse loose the House we are done. I believe that the US is the greatest country in the world, but until the citizens wise up and learn that something for nothing is really not free we will be lost.

Not sure about the specific stretch of road in question, but there are plenty of roads with minimum speed limits posted and even if you aren’t doing anything particularly against the law, you can be ticketed for interrupting the flow of traffic and/or wreckless driving. IMO, this makes drunk driving laws somewhat pointless.

As anyone with a learner’s permit will tell you, “Driving is a privilege.”

Ya, but the minimum is usally like 20 less, not 2.

Quit hogging the left lane. If the right lane is open move your happy butt over. This is probably what got the person in trouble. Passed on the left and stayed there.

 That’s not the point!! (I’m gonna keep hammering this all day).

We all go over the speed LIMIT, but there is no justification for it. She was doing 2 miles under, and was ticketed, which is absurd.

After the Chris Dorner incident, LAPD still won’t replace the truck of the two women who were shot at 102 times.

The city is trying to reneg on it’s promise to replace their truck, the police chief is even going so far to call a brand new truck “a gift.” No chief, shooting 102 bullets at me for no reason is certainly no “gift.”

Bam’s golf outing with Tiger Woods cost the same amount as funding the White House tours for one year.

Apparently, he puts his golf game above the American people.

I agree it is absurd for the ticket, but it is also absurd when someone is going 2 mph under the speed limit in the left hand lane. Slow traffic keep to the Right. In Texas if someone passes you on the right when you are in the left hand land going under the speed limit, but above the minimum, you can get a ticket for being in the left hand lane.

What if she was going 65, the speed limit, do you expect her to move right? What if she was doing 75 and someone wanted to pass her because they are going 80, should she mover right?

You people are bitching about speed limits and shit. The whole thing is a scam to get money.

Seriously, you are whining about 2 mph, when it’s a cover story for nothing more than a city/state money grab ?

I think I need to tutor up some of you on how government will try to take wealth in the name of something infallible.

For example, here in Los Angeles, we just shot down a Rain Tax. Yes, these assholes tried taxing the rain, that wet shit that falls from the sky (rare as it is here).

Some key phrases which set off red flags…

“What about the children…”

“If we can save only one life…”

“If this fails it will be a danger to society…”

If there is space for her to move over to the right hand lane, then she needs to get over. Slower traffic keep right. If someone is going faster than her then she is slower traffic. It is one thing if she is going faster than people in the right hand lane, but if there is no one in the right hand land get over.

I am not trying to be an ass, just a pet peeve of mine when driving. There are people in Houston that get on the freeway and move directly to the right hand lane doing the speed limit or just a little under when there is no one in the right hand lane. This causes back up on the Freeways. Most Freeways in Houston have 3-6 lanes of traffic, but people still go straight to the left hand lane. Not to be racists, but they usually are Hispanic females, Asian females, or just Old People.

So the fact that the law is being broken isn’t an issue to you?

Listen I get it, I hate being stuck behind a slow moving car in the left lane and I typically avoid the left lane anyway. I just think it’s funny that we over look the fact that a law is being broken because we (speaking about people in general) are in such a hurry all the time.

The Baltimore Washington area is one of the worst rate commuter areas in the world year after year. So believe me I understand the frustration. The lady shouldnâ??t have been ticket though. She did nothing wrong. She lacks common courtesy, but that’s not a crime.

I think it’s interesting that about 1/3 of traffic related deaths are due to speeding.

It is an issue. Move over. I have to agree with Max though. It is nothing more than a money grab.

I received a ticket because I did not move my truck for a 24 hour period. I was parked in front of my house for crying out loud. I have not had a speeding ticket in over a decade and the first ticket I get is for not moving. I’ve lived in the house for over 6 years, and never got a ticket before for this. In fact the only time we take the truck/suburban is to load up the kids and go to church every Sunday. I was told the law was on the books, and did not need to be on a sign, but the sign that is out there is no parking except by permit. I have a permit. I had never heard of this law before in my life and have lived in the city for 8 years. When I mentioned I have parked their for 6 years with no issues, the person I was trying to convenice to overturn the ticket, told me that be thankful I had not gotten 365 tickets per year. You kidding me? The City of Houston is so desperate for money they will ticket anything.
