Ramped to 105 kg, thought about one more bump, remembered the hell on earth awaiting me.
20 reps with 85 kg
I made it to 16 with doubles, so that was fun, even though it totally sucked.
CGBP ala the recent Meadows thread. Well…THOSE are effective.
30 kg of plates on the Smith - 20
35 kg - 15, 15, 12
30 kg - 12
Tris were so pumped my arm didn’t want to straighten out fully.
Hit a few dips but they were severely impaired after the close grip.
5 narrow 5 wide - made three set and was DONE.
Well gentlemen, that’s about that for the semester. I have had a few workouts since last updating, but truth be told, I am deeply in school mode and they were quick “get in, try to get sore and get out” sessions. More 50-100 dips, a pile of rows and curls etc. I started calling the curling routine “Goodbyeceps” because hey, it’s clever, and god damn it’ll slap 3 days of sore on you. Incline curls, around 6 rep weight, hitting 5 reps with a short break until form is abyssal, straight into reverse EZ preacher. And I’m the anti-curl guy! But hey, it worked.
I’m sure you’ve seen in the news, there are protests ongoing in the city. One hot bed (to be avoided by non-locals) is the last compound I pass on the way to the gym, no way around. Thus I have missed a few sessions due to my preference to stay the fuck out of all that.
I leave next week for Southern Thailand, then Malaysia, including the island of Borneo. What all did I achieve this semester? Off the top - I grew a set of traps, I nearly doubled my SGHP max, I broke the elusive 225 bench barrier, I squatted near 300 (130 kg) I tore the everliving shit out of my hands which have just now come back around like 7 weeks later, I learned a very effective mode of training which I WILL be utilizing next semester.

This is actually the first time I heard of it, but good call on avoiding the area. Hope it doesn’t get worse before it gets better.
