An Inspiration

At the gym today… I’m doing my warmups, and I notice a new girl in the gym… not sure if she’s new, or if I just haven’t seen here there before. She’s jacked. must’ve weighed 190… arms as big as mine. she’s throwing serious iron. and she’s beautiful. REALLY beautiful.

…and she’s in a wheelchair.

I got so inspired, my bench went up by 10 lbs, and my bent over rows went up by 5. I need to find out what her schedule is.

I’d say good job to you, but its worthless compared to the woman in the wheelchair.

Just kidding man.

Thats really awesome, for both of you.

Yeah that is cool. I like to remind people of that sort of thing when the whining and complaining start.

Side note… I saw a wheelchair-bound girl at a motocross event last week and she was REALLY HOT. If I wasn’t married and the situation presented itself I’d like to have asked her out.
It looked like she had a great attitude or else she was just in a great mood (constant smile). Sometimes adversity brings out the best in people.

I remember a wheelchair-bound guy who said his life was 10 times better AFTER his accident because he had 10 times the “life” in him now and participated in sports where before he was a miserable bastard.

I think that was that guy in the movie about wheelchair basketball. Murderball, or something?

Yup, good memory, that was exactly what it was from!

I admire folks like that a great deal.

Makes you realize how minor those little aches and pains are in comparison.

Seriously… I’ve been relegated to doing hypers, reverse hypers and bridges on the swiss ball instead of deadlifts due to a bulging disc inbetween L3 and L4, but seeing her made me realize I’m lucky to have an injury that’s recoverable.

I agree with that also. Sometimes adversity brings out the best in people.

Ouch! Good luck with that.
