I am thinking of adding amino acids to my gallon jug of water, would they degrade in anyway similar to creatine in water to creatinine after a while?(I know it is not an AA)
I was thinking of adding like leucine, carnitine, and maybe l-citrulline malate.
Thanks for any help, even if it is a simple answer.
I add a few scoops to my jug and then add a little fresh squeezed lemon for flavoring. I sip on them throughout the day. My branched chain aminos are not the flavored kind so the lemon helps with the taste.
I did some searching on this not too far back. I didn’t really find anything terribly definitive. However, I think the best answer is the common sense one. Amino Acids can’t really break down into anything. Amino Acids are as basic as it gets, that’s why they are “building blocks.” Aside from that, I think if you were consuming it within the next several hours, there should not be a problem.
Would any of you recommend taking Aminos before and after your work out instead of during it? I know that its usually an intra but I’ve read some articles about before and after usage
There’s never a bad time for aminos. I train fasted in the mornings, taking in 10 g’s of BCAAs prior to getting in the gym. If you’re not training fasted, than there is nothing wrong with taking them after either.

And if one is hitting his protein requirements from his meals/shakes, then sipping aminos throughtout the day is pointless.
Drink your water. Add some electrolytes if you’re sweating a lot.
