I come from a Swedish family and nobody considers Finland to be part of Scandanavia. Completely different language family (a TOUGH language to learn!) and background. The Finns have more in common with Estonians than Danes, Swedes or Norwegians
The following numbers were calculated by dividing the total estimated pop. in 2009 from wikipedia by the total medal count provided by super saiyan.

Also, Finland was a part of Sweden for a very long time. There is still a portion of Finland that is populated by Swedes, about 6% of the population. Linus Torvalds, the inventor of Linux, is a “finlandssvensk”, for instance.
So, all in all, I think we can include Finland in Scandinavia even if it isn’t technically correct or whatever.

Finland is part of Scandinavia as Guyana and Suriname are part of Latin America, indeed probably much more so. It is part of geographic region, and its history is intrinsically linked and shaped by the neighboring countries However, it’s demographics, language and culture are distinct and derive from entirely different roots.
Finland has the same ethnic and cultural roots as Estonia, and Hungary (supposedly) but it would be absolutely blind to say the centures of Swedish domination, interchange with other Scandinavian and Nordic people, and substantial Swedish minority, have not impacted the country’s original culture greatly…to the point of saturating it with enough Scandinavian influences to make it more Scandinavian at least, than any other place outside of Scandinavia.
That being said, Finland is the tightest Scandinavian country. In Norway, & Sweden, they import unmpteen criminal immigrants to sit on their ass and collect welfare to the point where they have to build fucking robots to work at Pizza Hut, and then require by law you sacrifice your first born daughter to an African or Muslim man.
On the other hand in Finland, babies are nursed on 120 proof Vodka, and given menthol cigarettes as pacifiers, and when they reach the ripe age of 5, they are thrown into a criminal neo-nazi gang as their kindergarten. The Finnish are the last real men on the planet.
If the nordic countries united the world would be fucked. Sweden would supply the suicide bombers, Denmark the vikings, Norway the human shields (and oil) and Finland the guerilla-fuck-all-supermen.
Some credit must be given to Norway though for running a pretty bad-ass resistance during WWII.
