Hey, I have the option of either training in the morning or late at night.
If I train in the AM I can get good nutrition all day though I won’t sleep for a while.
If I train in the PM I can get good nutrition for an hour or two post workout and then have some casein and go to bed.
Which would be better? Thanks.
The important thing is that you ARE traning . Sometimes I catch myself overanalizing every detail of my program, and this hinders my progress. Just lift and you will be fine.

Agreed. Eat enough, train hard enough, rest enough. Worry about small shit after you have actually made some progress.

Yes what matters most is when is best for you when youll perform best some ppl, AM, some PM. Try them and see
Phill
Training as soon as you wake isn’t ideal for strength and also puts you at greater risk of injury. I would try training at night first and stick with it unless your sleep is being disrupted by it.
I’ve found I feel stronger if I’ve put at least 3 meals in. I could be tired as shit from working/school but once I get in I’m golden. I can’t say the same about am workouts.
I like 11am trainig or 2pm training.
The 9 to 11 time slot is supposed to be the optimal time to cash in on naturally high cortisol levels. Otherwise you cause another cortisol spike later in the day.
Thats the theory anyway. In reality it probably makes little difference.
Other than the comments about strength in the morning, a big factor in AM training is your ability to go to bed at a decent time. If you can’t make yourself go to bed ealy enough, then lift PM. Nothing sucks worse than getting up early after only 4 or 5 hours sleep and trying to squat or deadlift…
I’m not a morning person, and prefer working out after work. But If I could I would work out in the morning.
If your training seriuosly, doing that LATE at night has a good chance of effecting your sleep, which will slow your gains anyway. Then your combining that with bad nutrition?
Morning it is. Just do a quick 10 minute cardio warm up if you have the time. Or thoroughly pyramid up before you go heavy in the morning.
I know there was a study out a few years ago saying that people who workout in the morning were more consistent in their workouts. That has been the case for me because I can always find an excuse not to train at night (work later, go home because I am tired etc.)
I guess if you are not a morning person then the only choice is to work out in the PM.

Personally i love to start my day by training as i have a clear head(no distractions).
Scientifically i read testosterone levels are higher in the morning, yet most people are stronger in the afternoon or evening.
Conclusion: bodybuilders am, powerlifters pm. However, i say train at the time that you will be able to do most consistently. One things for sure, consistent training is important and the time of day probably does not have a great deal of impact on results when compared to rest, nutrition, training methods recovery etc.
