hahaha my thoughts exactly.
I agree with you on the idea that people shouldn’t be proud of the way they look if they are obese. I think being heavier set is perfectly fine, but obese??? that’s not genetics for 99% of america, that’s jsut really unhealthy eating and i don’t think it’s something to be proud of since it’s shortening one’s life span. It’s definitely not the message you want to be sending to the rest of america
Your problem, OP, is that you picked a topic to sound cool as opposed to picking a topic in order to receive a good grade. So, yes, of course you fucking did something wrong.
Your life is going to be a fucking peach if you go through it with all the tact you showed in the classroom. The fact that you have to ASK whether or not you “are wrong” shows what a fucking idiot you are… thus proving that you are too intellectually ill-equipped to handle such a controversial topic, anyhow.
Congrats - now everyone thinks you’re a douchebag (feel free to chime on on how many friends you have and how much jailbait ass you get now)… was it worth it?

Maybe I’m going out a limb here, but I’d think it’s safe to say plus size models aren’t unattractive. Then again, I like fat chicks.
By not allowing fat people to use public resources funded partially by their own tax dollars, then you are saying you are ok with a government imposed morality. What if the bus system also didn’t allow large bodybuilders to ride, would you be ok with that too?
Reread his post. He is talking about fat models on the catwalk.
You’re the one who missed something if you think the entirety of his post was about fat models on the catwalk.
Reread all of these posts. My reply was to Stronghold’s comment about fat people not being able to use public resources. It makes sense, but not in this conversation. No one (unless I completely missed something, which hey, is possible) here said that fat people should be barred from using public resources. Modeling shows aren’t government services, and the rest of his post was about hating fat people, and honestly, people are allowed to hate. It isn’t usually socially acceptable to voice honest opinions, but that’s a matter of whether or not he’s okay with being disliked.

How do you know he picked it to sound cool? He doesn’t have to be an idiot either. I know multiple people who either due to upbringing or just because of the way they were born, truly don’t feel that an opinion should go unexpressed. It may not be acceptable in a social situation, but maybe that’s why he had to ask.
English papers aren’t neccessarily graded on their content anyways
It’s all about clean/efficient/clever execution, no point in pissing off your class cuz fat chicks don’t float your boat
lol at making girls in your class cry, good fucking job buddy
You probably could have got away with it if you approached differently, like less hostile and more convincing with examples to back up claims other than your personal feelings, which seemingly lack empathetical thought. The audience needs to be on your side for you to win.

It seems you don’t have the ability to read between the lines as Stronghold(and other responding posters) did.

Have you ever exceeded the speed limit while driving? Ever not put your seat belt on or rode in the bed of a pickup? Texted while you drove? Smoked a cigarette? Got hammered drunk? Jaywalked? Gone swimming in the ocean at night? Played a contact sport? Gone hunting? Climbed a tree?
Ever pet a stray dog? Been in an unsafe neighborhood at night? Been off the strip in Atlantic City at any time of day? Been to South America? Ever dove into a pool less than 5 feet deep?
Ever eat charred meat? Talk on your cell phone? Put your laptop on your lap? Eat artificial sweeteners? Ever have unprotected sex? Do you consistently get less than 6 hours of sleep?
Any of these things can be linked to a greater chance or death or a higher mortality rate. The way we live our lives is just choosing the way we’re most likely to die. If fat people wanna drop dead of a heart attack at 55… fuck it, let them. Who are you to tell them not to be fat?
Clearly when I actually set out writing the essay I will use points to support my view and also I’m not fussed on English grades I hate the subject but I know so long as I put up a good argument I will be fine. I chose the topic because in Australia where I live obesity is a serious problem and scientists are constantly worrying over our growing waste lines so I just proposed to the class that we shouldn’t encourage an unhealthy lifestyle for the benefit of the nation so we don’t all end up with clogged arteries. In essay form this won’t sound as bad and less ass hole like.

Reading between the lines isn’t the same as putting words in his mouth though.

No I don’t have my license. Ya maybe i couple times I haven’t put on my seat belt but rarely. I can’t drive so no. I don’t smoke doesn’t help me in anyway physically or mentally. I actually don’t drink and if I did I wouldn’t drink to get hammered. Jaywalked yes but the risk is totally different if there are no cars on the road. Lol I don’t really like swimming. I play basketball so no not really and I probably be pretty good at football but are school team is kind of a joke. Haven’t gone hunting. Lol climbing a tree is not risky
No.No.No.No.Maybe the pool thing
Never charred meat. Lol are you kidding dude talking on your cellphone is not dangerous and yes you do have a better chance of dying of diseases related to your weight. Its called a laptop. No i don’t eat artificial sweeteners. Never had unprotected sex. I always get at least 8 hours of sleep.
I really doubt that being a your laptop, jaywalking carry that many risks. I just think being fat is a burden on society it also reduces your chances of getting a job the employer nine times out of ten will pick the more attractive person if everything else is the same. The real question is why would you want to be fat?

Nobody said they can’t be fat, what he said was fat models don’t fight aneroxia. Which is a good point in this push to be fat society. America seems to want to fight a small paper fire by throwing an entire ocean of water on it…
Combat homophobia by teaching homosexuality in school?
Combat anarexia by saying hey it’s cool to be fat?
basically the equivelant of
wow we had 10 people die this year from atkins diet, let’s
Teach people to bake and eat cookies and cake all day and tell them this is healthy.

If everything else is the same? elaborate please… I have yet to come across that scenario in life.
Everyone had a go at me for watching what I eat and obsessing over my body. One girl even said this “how would you feel if I chose to discuss why protein is bad for you?” WTF, I felt like slapping the bitch in the face but didn’t
Should have punched her in the gut then you should have thrown protein powder in her face and ran.
Lift or die wrote:

The real question is why some people care so much? I’m not fat, nor do I have any desire to be. Part of the reason I get up and train every morning is so that I don’t feel like shit when I look in the mirror. But if somebody wants to be fat (provided they aren’t one of those, “losing weight is impossible” complainers), then let them be fat.
If some plus-sized models want to do their thing. Let them. I think it’d dumb but:
A lot (possibly a majority) of Americans think that creatine, and even protein powder, is in the same boat as steroids and is unhealthy.
A lot of people think that excess consumption of eggs and red meat is unhealthy.
A lot of people think that having muscles that are “too bulky” is unhealthy.
I sure as hell don’t want those people telling me I can’t do some of those things. So thus, I don’t get to tell fat people that, because I think their lifestyle is unhealthy, they can’t be fat.
Instead I will just give them a condescending look on my way to the gym.
