Background info: I’m a 21 year old 5’ 10" tall 200 pound male that competed in both rowing and football in high school and have been lifting on and off since the age of 14 or 15. Just cut down from 208 pounds with some unwanted fat to about 200 pounds. (No bodyfat measurements, but I can almost see my abs at this point if that helps at all.)
So, I’ve been taking HOT-ROX Extreme for the last 2 and a half weeks while cutting and I’ve been very happy with the results. I’ve got a little less than half a bottle left and I am almost to the point where I am ready to begin a mass phase.
I’ve decided that for this mass phase I’d like to give Alpha Male and Rez-V a shot and have ordered them up. Now, I’m eager to try out the Alpha Male and start putting some more muscle on, but I still feel that I would like to lose a little more fat before I do
Another thing to consider is that I’m a 21 year old male, so I may not want to take the full dosage of Alpha Male every week. (After all, I might not need THAT much more testosterone in my system.)
With that in mind, I thought that it might be appropriate to cycle the HOT-ROX Extreme and Alpha Male within each week for the next couple of weeks. For example:
Monday - Alpha Male - Weights
Tuesday - HOT-ROX - Sprints
Wednesday - Alpha Male - Weights
Thursday - HOT-ROX - Cardio
Friday - Alpha Male - Weights
Saturday - HOT-ROX - Cardio
Sunday - Either supplement - Rest
This means that I’ll be getting Carbolin 19 every day while still only using Alpha Male part of the time and keeping up some fat loss.
Would this be an acceptable set up, or should I just stick to the 5 on 2 off cycle with Alpha Male? If this is the case, would HOT-ROX be appropriate for the 2 off days?
I think you would be better using the Alpha Male for the next two weeks, then going back to the HOT-ROX for two weeks, then back to the alpha for two weeks.
I’ve been doing very low carb with lots of lean meat and healthy fats (avocado, salmon, some beef fat). Unfortunately, even with a carb-up day about once a week, I’ve been noticing a negative impact on my workouts. I’m feeling tired a lot more often and many of my lifts have dropped in weight.
Up at school, (where I’ll be in a couple of days) it’s a bit harder to control my diet just from a lack of healthy choices. Still, I can pretty much guarantee a salad and some meat at each meal, even though the meat may not be lean. Once I start the gaining phase, I’ll be including some more carbs in the diet, especially around workout times.
Also, regardless of gaining or cutting, I include Surge Recovery around workout time. On a cutting, lifting day, I’ll normally drink about a half scoop of Workout Fuel with a half scoop of Recovery about 20 minutes before the gym and sip on a full scoop of Recovery during the gym. For gaining, I’d probably up the during workout drink to 2 scoops of Recovery.
Bwbski,
Is there a particular rationale behind this suggestion? For instance, does HOT-ROX not offer any real benefit if it is not taken every day?
I figured that since Carbolin 19 is not available at the store and hasn’t been for at least a month, that this could be a good way to maintain a steady dose of it while on Alpha Male (which should be cycled even at a full dosage 5/2 within a week).
Rather than lose 2 days of Carbolin 19 per week, I could keep the benefits of that, plus help to continue shedding some fat at the same time. The idea became especially appealing when I realized that a full dose of Alpha Male might not be needed for me, but again I’m still interested in maintaining the Carbolin 19.
What’s wrong with using both at the same time/following the recommended cycling for both?
Excess Carbolin 19? Is that really a problem? Or is it just a “waste” (seems more likely).
People have asked about upping the HOT-ROX dosage, and the response from those who seem to know has been that it’s no more effective to take more than the recommended amount, but no one has ever talked about it hurting you, have they?
Well, concerning taking them both at once, it has been stated that they specifically do not recommend doing that because of the Carbolin 19. I don’t know whether it’s a safety issue or a waste of Carbolin 19, but neither is very appealing to me.
Assuming that the Carbolin 19 is the only limiting factor however, then there shouldn’t be any problem using them both at different times during the week. I suppose my question is whether the effectiveness of each product will be significantly decreased by using them at slightly less than their recommended dosage and whether that decrease would outweigh the benefits of being able to use them both within a week.
Any opinions are of course very welcome (and reasoning or facts behind them are even more welcome), but since there doesn’t seem to be a safety concern with what I proposed, I guess that I’ll just give it a shot and see how it works for me.
