i thought crystal meth was speed
Yeah your right dude. Methamphetamine is the most potent form of speed. I made a boo boo.
Shiiiiiit I’ve been upgraded to a rabid bad guy! Hella cool, I’ll be frothing at the choppers when I bite some fascist ass.
iscariot- the advantage thing was in jest. probably.
So were over Iraq, lets get on to affirmative action & sodomy laws…
US=GG?
-this machine kills fascists - [Woody Guthrie]
Well, I see that at least Diesel23 has gotten the hint. Too bad US=GG is too stupid to see what’s being said here.
Does he remind anyone else here of Cliff Claven, or is it only me?
As for ~karma’s~ suggestion, hey. I’m all for it. If only that pesky ko guy would quit breaking my fingers…
Oh, and to kuri: Yes, I’m in Hiroshima, and yes, the museum is absolutely riveting/astounding/appalling. I’ve been through it twice, but don’t plan to go again. It’s just too much.
Ok Char took a big chance in complaining about these posts hoping maybe these threads would either become more informative and issues would come to light or everyone would stop argueing. He came across kind of hostile, but he got your attention. And you responded with hostility and remarks about his person. Thats lame. Thats what seems to end up happening in these threads. It starts off being an intelligent update leading into debate then suddenly someone starts attacking someone elses morals. I know both sides have very strong feelings about this subject, but wouldn’t you like to accomplish something more than irratating readers and turning them away from the issues? If you would control your tone, stop threads when people start responding in a destructive fashion, and agree to disagree then you might have some loyal followers who would enjoy contributing. Instead you are like the major networks who pretend to be unbiased then spew out propaganda and thier worthless opinions and piss us off. We want to see your ideas and your intelligence come through not a heated unending go no where arguement. If you were really just argueing you would PM each other and rip each other a new one each time. I have no problem with that. But the fact that you post logically means that you want others to participate. That is only going to happen if you can control yourself and be more constructive. Now don’t stop posting just please change the nature of your posts and you will get something done here.
Char, tell us about the museum then,it sounds quite interesting.
I went to the museum last summer. Once is enough.
There is a section of the museum that is dedicated to one little girl and how she died from the radiation/fallout after the bomb. By focusing on this one kid they personalise the event and put a face to it.
A truly sobering, moving and unforgettable trip that I never wish to repeat.
RS, tha was beautiful man. Simply put and right on the money!
RS…exactely. Gold sticker for you!!!
Yup, RS hit it on the head. Thanks.
Beni: Sorry, but I’m not going to think about what’s in that museum any more than I have to. There are lots of websites that deal with it, though, if you’re interested. Try a search for Peace Memorial Park and see what comes up.
On the Hiroshima tip - I feel ya Char, I too get a but glum if I ruminate on what happened there.
The “genbaku domu”, the only bldg left standing is frightening as well, with the vaporized person’s imprint left on the wall.
And oh man, the collection of shoes from vaporized victims in the museum… I shouldn’t think about this before bed.
Lets just say if you have the chance and can handle the emotional aspect, Hiroshima is a great place to visit. The landscape is beautiful as well.
sorry to get off the point of the thread, but its war related I guess.
Char - ever run into any “funny” situations with you being a Westerner?
As an American I felt like a shithead walking around town there after seeing the museum.
Well, for one, because it’s a big world and you and I are not important. This shit is what’s important. The future is more important than yours or my insiginicant struggle for a better body.
Kuri, I had a similar experience recently when I visited Pearl Harbor.
I think we can all agree that war is an awful thing and should NEVER be taken lightly as the human cost is almost unbearable.
Good answer, Addy.
And DocT, your post points out why I respond to these Iraq threads.
Because I have to answer to threads like “Hell Yeah!!! War!!!” and threads where people say that war protestors “should be shot” or “send them to Arabia”
I’ve been to the eternal flame in Okinawa. It was awe-inspiring. My grandfather was a Marine in WWII, and he will never talk about it. It’s very touching and emotional. Words can’t really explain it well.
For Pete Sakes Enuff Already!!!
