OH squats are realy nice for lats…shoulders…glutes…everything. I got quite a muscle gain in certain areas…it also depends. I found that 6-8 rep sets worked better, and honestly without decent flexiblity and good form you wont get much out of them, until the felx. is earned from doing them often. I put about 20 lbs on my snatch ( hehe ) and 20-30 on my squat in the 6 weeks i used them.
fat is like jello and muscle is like clay. That is a great line.
20 pounds on your snatch!?!?!?!???
I tried an overhead squat the other day, you know, just for shits and giggles …damn, am I ever glad nobody was there to see me make a fool of myself. Point is, I now believe that if one can master that exercise it can only do them good.
It is fun pushing around heavier weights, but I realize that I will probally never actually be that strong. I would love to say, bench 200 lbs., but I realize that may not be possible. But, I can surely build a nice physique.
There’s not a single person on this planet that cares how much I can lift, but there sure are a lot who care how I look.
In the modern world, it is perfectly acceptable to be all show no go. It isn’t like we are going to be lifting logs to build bridges anymore like they did in the stone age. besides, it isn’t like you are going to be a ripped 200 with the strength of an untrained guy who weighs 150. Therefor, in reality, you are not all show no go.
Heres the thing. If you strive to be as strong as possible you are going to be a big bastard. If you train to gain muscle you might get stronger and you might get bigger, but by getting stronger you are almost guaranteed to get bigger.
