Just as an FYI, in case, some of you noticed I have another training log; this isn’t MY second training log. However, my son (11) has decided that he needs to start recording his work outs as he wants to make sure he’s progressing. And he is below what I imagine the minimum age limit for this site is. So he’ll be logging on using my account (under heavy supervision).
All of the post from this point on will be by him.
Hello, I am 11 years old. I want to log my progress on the website.
I am trying to achieve greater strength fitness and power. I am focusing on pull up, sled pulls and press ups.
I play Rugby and basket ball on a weekly basis and aim to come to the gym when I have spare time.
I will try to keep up the consistency of doing this 1 to 2 times a week.
Todays work out was.
First of all I warmed up on pull ups the did 5 sets of 3 at full arms length.I managed to do this fairly easily whilst keeping up a level of smoothness.
Next up was goblet squats. I was going to do it but felt growing pain in my knees I decided to skip this for today.
After that,I did press ups. Warming up I did 5 to 7 at a time. After warming up I did 10 press ups with 2.5 kg extra load then 12.
Then I did sled pull. It was 20 to 45 kg uphill and downhill.
That was enough, I felt quite tired drastically in fact.
That was my workout for today.
This is the me,I weigh around 50 kg but am very healthy and lean and I intend to keep it that way.
I will try to reach my full potential and become outrageously strong.
Whilst doing this, I intend to keep very fit and lean
so I can be an all-rounder which is the standard of an hard-working athlete.
I will continue to log all of my progress to see how much I have improved of a long period of time.
I will be taking in advice to improve my work to become my best me.
Dad posting as kid went to bed and he’s asked me to post.
He’s not been in the gym but he’s been attending his clubs regularly. At rugby where I coach his performance has been improved from early in the year. I say he’s doing well. I’m told from the other coaches he is nearly unplayable at the moment. In training he is dominant in everything he does. And he does a lot. So I guess that’s fair.
In he gym tonight he did:
Pull ups - 5x3
Spinning bike
10 seconds on - 10 off - 10on - 20 off - 10on - 30 off x2
20 seconds on -10 off - 20on - 20 off - 20 on and it was over.
This replaced the leg work out as his knee was still a bit sore form the weekend.
Push press empty bar
1-2-3-4-4-5 with a hold on the way down on the last rep.
Dad typing:
So - workouts have been thin on the ground as I have been doing shift work and Donkey lacks the discipline to attend the gym regularly. However his clubs do keep him busy (rugby once a week and basket ball once or twice a week plus his school clubs).
His preformance in a recent rugby game was nothing short of exceptional. Raw pace and power were great. But these things aside I will say - his game play and skill level was VERY high. Undertaking a very difficult skill in drawing a defender and passing before contact. Which in rugby is a fundamental skill. And it was preformed to a grade A standard.
Tonight was a rare trip to the gym:
Pull ups - 5x3
Bike - 10 on, 10 off, 20 on, 20 off, 30 on, 30 off: 2 sets. This killed him. Genuinely had me looking for his asthma inhaler.
Push press:
20kg 1,2,3,5,
25kg
3,3,
Over head dumbbell press
7kg 7,7,7
Two workouts to log:
Last week the boy.
Five sets of three pull-ups. All of which are full arm. And one set of four pull-ups.
3 sets of push press with 25 kilos
5,5,5,5,5,7.
Goblet squat 3 sets of 15 with 20kg. We are working towards 1 set of 30.
Today the boy was really not feeling it. But he pushed on and got some solid results.
Today the boy did
25 press ups
2x3 pull ups
(To be repeated later today)
And grace with a slam bag. Should be 15kg. But I think it’s closer to 20kg as it is soaked.
Time not taken but it was done with high effort.
