My first piece of advice would be to start deadlifting.

Haha I know your story with your wife well - butttt you’re lifting a barbell from a dead stop off the floor, ticks my "dead"lift box.

I do the same thing when I do a power clean

You mean an over extended deadlift?

When I do it, it’s pretty much a reverse curls starting from the floor.

All that said, I think conventional deadlifting is stupid anyway and only do it because my sport requires it. One day, when I’m ready to admit I’m done, I would just go trap bar from the floor and conventional style mat pulls from a high pick.

I don’t even compete so I’m not sure why I’m so compelled to deadlift or why it even matters that I get to 250 (and when I get there I’m sure I’ll feel the lure of 600lb!). It has no real benefit, particularly just adding 50kg, no one else cares and it’s not even particularly impressive.

In summary it’s stupid, I’m stupid, carry on.

You could always change that

Hmm I may be bad at “LISS” … But I’m getting better at running:

Achingly close to 25 min 5km, stupid metric system.

True, but strongman doesn’t do sumo and powerlifting wouldn’t pass my squat depth! :joy:

Just pull conventional. Powerlifting is boring anyways. :stuck_out_tongue:

Agreed, but conventional doesnt agree with me!

Skipped cardio yesterday, very full on and stressful day, no cardio today either still a full on but slightly less stressful day, maybe tomorrow - got a job interview in the morning, see if I feel like doing it after that haha.

Today’s work:

BB row: 60kg X 8, 70, 80, 85kg X 5, 97.5kg x 3, 107.5kg X 3
S/s
Bench: 60kg X 8, 70, 80, 85kg X 5, 97.5kg x 3, 107.5kg X 5

Still can’t get comfortable with bench, feeling weak and unstable.

Slingshot: 110kg X 7 X 3 sets
B/o cable row Ng: 60kg X 15 X 3

Wendlers tricep hell:
Ez bar low inc skull crusher: 28kg X 10 X 5 sets (maybe 6 I lost track and went for better safe than sorry)
S/s
Cable Rope Tri pd: 30kg X 10 X 5 sets

I made slow passionate love to the back of my arms, they didn’t enjoy it.

As per my brother in tiny arms @wanna_be 's recent post - my brain is definitely lying to me about how much pain and lifting my arms can take.

This little finisher might answer the bill instead of a dedicated arms day (because right now 3 sessions a week is a struggle) do a similar thing for bis at the end of dead lift day and I might see some arm growth, if not then I’ll try and pull of a separate arms day. “Enjoyed” that tricep work - definitely feels like it fits the bill.

Now next time go even further. I’m still working on convincing my brain we ain’t done :joy:

Yea definitely, funny how I thought after the 3rd or 4th set, I’m not sure I can sensibly control this bar over my head, but it was totally fine just my head wussing out before my body!

…next week 100kg skull crushers!

It’s not even the sets, even the reps. I’d get to a point and be like ok I can’t do anymore and start to set the weight down, then force myself to do more and low and behold! There was more!

Still working on this for triceps. It seems so much other stiff takes over for triceps for me when I get pumped and fatigued.

Good to see the good reviews. Definitely considering this approach once I’m eating to grow again.

How much rest time between the exercises during the superset Nd how much rest time between completed sets?

No rest between the supersets, 1-2 mins between after the completed s/s.

Just posting back again, that thing is legit. Taking my hoodie off caused me a lot of pain, nigh on cramping. Not actually felt Tri DOMs like it (and it’s only been about 3.5 hours since I did it!)
