I am starting a resto block next week, so thinking I will add the weight vest to the walks and reap the conditioning benefits. I’m not worried about the body weight effect I can just eat more

Just do those walking lunges with the vest while walking your dog.

Let me think about that… fk off

Just buy a 2nd hand army burgeon and fill it with old clothes. You can easily add 20/30lb if you pack it tightly.

If you do this avoid sand. Apparently its one of the worst things to pack a bag with.

Already have a vest which takes up to 30 - 1kg weights. Fully loaded it’s 66lb which is more than I need.

Testing day 1: bench (yes I did say I’d do this next week but changed my mind - felt like I wouldn’t have done any heavy work all week then would have two days testing back to back).

Slightly apprehensive going in back isn’t 100%, fell forward yesterday during an emom dead and my body’s been slow to react - but this session went well.

Conditioning:
Sorta deloaded (intentional this time) 10 mins run at 7mph - 1.15 miles. Not fast or overly hard but got the heart rate up, got me a bit out of breath and incredibly hot (conservatory is roasting today).

Main event:
Cable row: 80kg X 5 X
Bench: 60 X 5, 70 X 5, 80 X 3, 90, 100, 110, 120 X 1 …130 x…fail

130kg X 1

Videos to follow - fail was mental and back related (overly cautious of back, meaning not enough leg drive), was frustrated - knew I had more in me so took 3 min break (only 2 mins up to that point) and went again.

Pretty happy with that, slow progress hit 125kg a fair while back, but it is progress on a lift I Haven’t given much thought to, so happy there. 1 down 3 to go.

And before anyone says anything - yes it’s touch and go and yes it touches my chest!

Thanks, just hoping the next 3 are decent now! Feeling good about squat, not 100% on deads, and ohp well that’s a mystery indeed!

Boom. That’s a solid lift. Just shy of 300lb. You should be very pleased.

Cheers Carl, not far off a metric 3 plates - don’t want any freedom units in here, (that is unless I’m weighing myself at which point I inexplicably go for an imperial measurement), after BtM I might see if there is something that will give my bench a bit more love and get me there (then I’ll aim for 315lb just so I can say I hit 3 plates in lbs as well!)

Not bad for a giant, whiny manbaby.

Yeah - its infectious. I’m UK based also - but I keep converting to lb so I know what the colonists are saying.

BTM certainly wont hurt your bench. And with a bit more size you should find the push to higher numbers a bit easier. Mass moves mass.

Haha yea, always have to convert back to kg, in order to figure out if I’m impressed the lifts on here haha!

Yea definitely should maintain at the minimum, If I can add some weight (my current battle, which I seem to be continuously loosing - no whining it’s entirely my fault) that should build some strength too!

A wise man once told me to eat more bread.

I’ve added an extra 2 slices of bread a day with lots of butter and lots of peanut butter - on top of the additional nuts, I’ve started adding extra olive oil to the pan when I fry eggs (most days) and then pouring the oil out of the pan on top of my beans on toast. Making consistent changes, but obviously not - my bowel clearance rate increased (I poo more!) Which is normally a sign that I’m gaining, but nope was just a sign of more fat in my diet, more food needed!

Ever consider the wonderful world of honey with that PB toast?

That sounds very odd, about to go and hit that meal up, I’ll try it out (think I have honey lying round)
