Alex_uk: 40 years in the making

28/04/26 - 211

Will come back to some replies above, but squeezing this in early, getting all the sessions done this week will be my biggest challenge yet.

No excuses - strongman block

BB OHP (from rack):
20, 40, 50, 60, 70, 72.5kg x 3
S/s
Cable oblique crunch:
20kg X 8 e/s x 6 sets

BB OHP: 55kg x 3 x 10

Finisher
DB presses: 10kg DBs x 30 seconds
Waiter walks: 10kg x 30 secs (15 e/s)
Cable facepulls: 20kg x 30 secs
30 secs rest
Repeat x 5

Good session, first thing fasted with a fatigued lower back and grumpy elbows, so went with barbell from the rack. I nearly called it at 70kg because that was hard, but then saw that I did 68kg x 4 on the axle last time I did this, and thought, if I can do a other rep, on an axle, taken from the floor, I can definitely add more weight, told myself to man up, put forth some testicular fortitude and pressed it easier than the 70kg.

EMOM was slightly above weight, but easy enough, really got a chance to practice generating stability and power from my glutes.

Finisher just sucks, nuff said.

Those presses look solid. Except for the small, unmanly plates.

30/04/26 - 209 treacherous body!

Real tight for time, no excuses, getting done what I can skipped the finisher on this for that reason.

45M W2 B4 D20 (out of sync day 18 is next, but I’ll do that tonight)

Bench:
60, 80, 90, 100, 115kg x 3
S/s
Lying leg raises
8 x 5 sets

Bench:
85kg x 4 x 10 sets EMOM

Doubled up the last EMOM for a set of 8, giving me a minute back to write this!

Bench was solid, even for a morning, best it’s felt in ages, really getting good full body tension, utilising glutes is a game changer for me, I’ve been using my lower back instead of my glutes for decades, this development is great, hopefully some bench PRs on the horizon!
