No excuses - Strongman block
45M W1 B3 D12
Axle strict press:
28, 38, 48, 58, 68kg x 5
S/s
Standing cable crunches: 60kg x 8 x 3 sets (2 sets of ab rollouts first but they were annoying my wrists).
Axle strict press: 45.5kg x 5 x 10 sets EMOM
Finisher:
Press up death
20 secs CG press ups
10 secs rest
Repeat x 6, straight into
20 secs press up off bumpers
10 secs rest
Repeat x 6 straight into
20 secs press ups
10 secs rest
That final rep on the top set of the axle was genuinely the slowest hardest rep I think I’ve ever done, and I didn’t even video it!!!
Felt way harder that I’d have expected and by rep 3 I thought I was done, but Doubt me by beartooth was on, and I won’t repeat the lyrics but they sunk in enough to drive the last two hellacious reps.
EMOM was pretty decent very slightly higher than the % recommendation, plates didn’t work out and I was happy being higher on this, % when it comes to pressing always feels a bit too easy. Mind you by set 10 I had belted up and was working to drive my head through, up until about set 7 I’d just one breathed them and pressed the bar around me instead of myself around the bar, sets 8 onwards made me take it a bit more seriously.
That finisher is a lie, that’s what I says in the book, I did the same amount of rounds, but very early on I switched to kneeling press ups, I was absolutely fried and wanted to get the work done, some how, even if it wasn’t as hardcore. Then the final 3 mins I reversed so that it was 20 secs rest and 10 work. Either I’m really bad at press ups, or this is absolutely savage… Or both ![]()
I don’t think that is true, some of the strongest most impressive women I have met are still feminine. I think you can still eat a big stake and be feminine, just take small bites. LOL
