Does not exist. White chocolate is a lie. Its lovely. And I can / will eat a 250g bar to myself some days. But the way its made means its not technically chocolate.
First of all, this isn’t chocolate
Since when did sugar laden dairy soothe indigestion from sugar??? ![]()
@carlbm @anna_5588 alright you chocolate Nazis! I am aware that white chocolate isn’t technically chocolate - but the marketeers have called it that for as long as I remember, you all know what I meant!
Leave me alone in my diabetes and ignorant chocolatey (not really chocolatey) ways!
I’m seldom accused of good dietary choices…
You glasses pushing up nerds with your “ACKUALLLLLLLY it’s not chocolate” can just stuff it. Come up with a better word! Don’t be a problem admirer

Alex: I apologize for taking the Lord’s name in vain knowing your religious predilections but these “Come to Jesus moments” nutritionally are pretty big. Good on you to have it, and I’m excited to see how it manifests for you.
Haha this whole post was fun!
Surprising how much of a psychological impact it’s had already, made a coffee earlier and instantly searching for something unhealthy to eat, made me realise just how much my junk eating is impacting my whole being, I generally get away with not turning into a fat blob so I just thought it’s not really damaging me that much, (also cholesterol is solid and hba1c is good - definitely got some decent junk eating genes!), But the impact is clear even if it isn’t entirely obvious phsyicologically.
You’re me with fast food. Discovered I was an addict and had no idea, haha. We just get into these grooves.
For sure and a massive part of me always think, why do I care? But I think it’s wrong not to, it’s irresponsible and largely pointless because of the habitualness of it I don’t get the same pleasure that I would do if I ate it less frequently. Plus I’m curious to find out what sort of impact it will have performance and body wise - maybe less that expected but I’ll never know unless I do it and find out.
Also I think the “why should I” is kind of an addictive pull - my body’s way of fighting back, that and almost immediately making me think about junk.
Genuinely as I was typing I kept thinking “I’m going to be as popular as a fat guy on plane”.
But I couldn’t help it ![]()
Well now that you’re back on the daily work train you can revisit our challenge. But the bar has been raised again, now its 5 rounds in 7:37. But your sugar-fueled engine should have no problem!
Haha excellent I shall try it as my warm up to the next session! That’s quite some bar raising but my competitive nature will drive me to victory (or vomiting… or both!).
Neither of the things I said would happen, did happen (I did it fasted but I know I still didn’t push hard enough to vomit, so no excuses).
Screwed up the timer but I think 5 rounds in 8:41! Going to have to work hard to catch you here.
Anyway that was conditioning, carried on to DH work (still fasted):
Gs1:
kB swings: 24kg X 3 X 6 sets
Ssb: 60, 80, 100, 120, 140, 150kg
Cable crunch: 40kg X 8 X 6 sets
6 count Burpees: 3 X 6 sets
Gs2:
kB swings: 24kg X 3 X 3 sets
Ssb: 120kg X 8, 5, 5
Cable crunch: 40kg X 8 X 3 sets
6 count Burpees: 3 X 3 sets
Emoms:
Deads 70kg & red bands 10 mins
S/s ez curls 38kg X 3 X 10
Considering this was fasted, and morning it wasn’t too bad!
Little food update, yesterday was solid eating, had 8 eggs and banana and apple for breakfast sandwich with a tin of tuna and salad cream for lunch (lower fat than mayo, trying to separate fats/carbs somewhat, not neurotically but just getting some improvements), dinner was chilli (ground turkey) in tortilla wraps (with cheese, yea carbs and fats, but at least it wasn’t sugar!), Got cravings in the evening ate nuts and a shake instead.
Today’s breakfast was 6 eggs and leftover chilli I’m not intentionally low carbing but as soon as you try and separate carbs and fats it kind of happens anyway. I don’t find low carb meals overly satisfying, my brain doesn’t recognise the volume of food in my stomach!
Which is pretty darn good, considering that
I couldn’t even come close to that for a single.
I always do my KB stuff and runs fasted but never ever barbell work fasted. I think I’d run out of petrol (you like that?) doing heavy work fasted.
With your work ethic and consistency you’ll get there for sure. Plus that’s probably around 2x bw for you nearer 1.5x for me!
Haha picking up the English well! I’m was going to say how surprised I am by how I’m not getting too low energy levels wise fasted training, but then I just finished another this morning - wiped out, might be fatigue not fuel but that remains to be proven (plus I’m always knackered in someway or another!)
Dark horse week 2 day 4:
Conditioning:
My fatigued legs loved this… Pushed that hard, every time I was feeling like quitting I just ramped the speed up. Not too far off a 10 mins 1.5 mile, bit of practice I might get it.
Gs1:
Chins: 0, 5, 10, 15kg X 5 (all sets proper chin ups until last which was NG as I thought they might be impacting shoulders negatively)
Football bar OHP: 30, 40, 50, 60kg X 5
Ab roll: 5 X 4 sets
6 count Burpees: 4 X 4 sets
Gs2:
Chins: 10 X 3 (rest paused each set as 5s with a few breaths)
Football bar OHP: 50kg X 10, 7+3, 5+5 (rest pause again, weight was slightly heavier than 80% and my shoulders were pumped and fatigued).
Ab roll: 5 X 3 sets
6 count Burpees: 4 X 3 sets
Emoms:
Bench 60kg & red bands X 3 X 10
S/s single arm cable row 40kg X 3 X 10
Carrying on with putting my accessory work in with my DE emom stuff, works well. Good session can’t say if the fall of on GS2 was strength, having slightly too much on the bar, fatigue or lack of food, as this was fasted, who knows, got it all done even if it was RP’d.
Random food update:
Breakfast was porridge with a mashed banana, raisins and cinnamon plus 60g of whey. Decent breakfast but probably a bit low in cals.
Lunch was tuna and noodles, definitely low in cals.
Dinner was homemade curry, kept it low on the oil so another carb & protein meal.
Felt like snacking at 10pm hit up about 120g of nuts and 60g whey. Adjacent: unsalted, unroasted nuts remind me of tree bark (I’m not saying I dislike them but definitely bark-esk).
30 mins later washed my hands with soap that’s designed to smell like cola bottles, big craving for sweets - ate 4 eggs scrambled, Mrs asked why I was eating at this time and suggested I just drank some water and went to bed… I didn’t justify myself, just ate my eggs.
Pure fat and protein for the prebed stuff, bro scientists everywhere must be pleased.
Using my cravings to increase cals from better sources, must keep this up, it’s much harder to bulk or even maintain when eating cleaner, to me eating “clean” is for cutting.
Next food update/confession:
Been flat out since Thursday, dinner Thursday and Friday night: frozen pizza, avoided sugar though and even ate fruit when craving sugar (yes I get that fruit has sugar but at least it’s got some health benefits and isn’t processed).
Then parents in law came down for the week ; bringing a box of Krispy Kreme with them so had 1.5 donuts, that’s restrained for me, and we went to the beach with the kids, so naturally had an ice-cream which was actually awful, plus they bought take away for dinner last night. Lot of bad food consumed, no training done.
Confessions over - honestly I’m too busy to focus on food too much right now, the rest of this week might be ok, really want to try and get at least 3 sessions of DH in, I care more about that.
You’re a busy man. Gotta compromise somewhere, and if it comes down to food vs training, I say let the food slide and get the sessions in.
I hope things ease up for you soon and you can stay on the horse. I know the feeling, trust me! Sometimes you need a deload from life stuff, but that’s not easy to get.
I’m not sure who it was but a bodybuilder from the 1970’s used to say he’d count the calories in fruit but not the macros. Because the sugar is mixed with the fibers and it was a slow healthy realise.
Also to quote Paul Carter (about veg but you can also read apples / bananas / pears etc) “no one failed fat camp because they eat to many vegetables.”
