Conditioning:
Approx 10 metre (might be nearer 7.5) “run” with 16kg kB in rack position X 4, drop into 5 push ups done to 20 sec work 10 sec rest timer. Dropped push ups at set 15 (I think) and did it again on final set - 10 mins total time. That ruined me, with a light weight and short distance - new found respect for the sheer athleticism of strongman events.
Gs1:
KB swings: 24kg X 5 X 5
RDL: 60, 100, 120, 140, 150 X 3
Ab roll: 6 X 5 sets
Bandy twisty things: red band, 5 e/s X 5 sets
Gs2:
kB swings: 24kg X 5 X 3 sets
RDL: 112.5 X 10, 8, 8
Ab rolls: 5 X 3 sets
BTT: 5 es X 3 sets
etsotts (every thirty seconds on the thirty seconds) - time constraints!
Squat 80kg & blue bands X 3 X 10 sets
Haha yes I might have just insulted an entire sport by that comment - that was more CrossFit than strongman (and not even close to cross fit, just a bit of mild conditioning for an out of shape sedentary person!)
Yea 2 is probably a bit young haha, 4 might be getting closer though? But I have no idea, funny story I went for a bungee in Canada a while back and my daughter (7 at the time) was asking to have a go (not going to happen!) But I asked what they youngest they’d ever had was - 2 year old as a joint jump! Madness.
Slight drop off again I didn’t track cals yesterday - it was my birthday and whilst I ate a lot of cals and probably a fair bit of protein - it obviously wasn’t enough!
Slightly more seriously though, I just don’t think most of us have the “big rocks” of nutrition consistently ticked off, so we haven’t earned the right to worry about the pebbles or sand yet.
I do need to ensure some higher quality nutrition as well as more calories not doing myself any favours, knowledge is the easy part the application is the hard part!
I didn’t post it but I went back in your journal to your first pic to current, you really haven’t changed much at all, I think you could easily add significant weight (10kg+) over a period of months/years (not too slow though) and you’ll look better, feel better, perform better you may get slightly fuzzy, at worse, but that’s really just part of the process! Over the years I’ve gone from 151 (start) to 217 (most fat point) and I’ll have added a few inches to the waist at some point but it comes off again.
I would have significantly regretted my decision if I’d done it any other way, because I know how to bulk, I know how to cut, I know how to get stronger, I know discipline and when I can ease up, I know when I’m trying to justify unsustainable choices, I know how to make significant progress, I know that being fuzzy is temporary and intentional and has no relation to the lazy fatness of the general population, above all else I know that had I not taken this route I would have absolutely stymied my progress and I would regret that.
I think it’s more complex than that. I absolutely understand intellectually for myself that a lot of my decisions are anathema to my goals. And yet…
@anna_5588 s bright enough to know intellectually what she should do, but when it comes to executing on that there are other factors at play (mental health) that are throwing sticks into the proverbial wheel.
