Alex Jones Ordered to Pay $965 Million

I was extremely upset when Joe Biden publicly said my unvaccinated son was prolonging the pandemic, and this was before he called us both semi-fascists. These feelings of hurt were exacerbated by the many media and news figures who echoed these sentiments.

My son is not a semi-fascist, nor did he prolong the pandemic by refusing a shot that didn’t work.

How much money do I deserve?

We Canadians like to preemptively apologize.

I assume if he apologized after damages occurred then it would be difficult to prove if he was genuinely sorry or just doing it because things got out of control.

Sue him and find out.

I love how you guys are comparing minor scenarios to what those parents went through.

Who would you like to see ruined financially next? If you believe Jones is deserving of this, surely there are many other non criminals who deserve the same.

If we can’t put them in jail, let’s get them up against the wall in civil court.

Who should be next?

I didn’t say he was deserving of it, a jury did. He also didn’t present his side which could have made a difference. I believe he can also appeal the decision

There isn’t some witch hunt conspiracy going on. Anyone can sue another. The government didn’t take him to court, private citizens did.

You are free to believe this is happening in a vacuum.

I’ve learned that the American left and global elites mean what they say. Jones is just setting the precedent.

Time will tell I guess.

The next piece of shit who uses their media platform to cause more pain by intentionally lying for profit about parents who’ve lost children in a mass shooting. That’s pretty specific.

It was a default judgment because Jones didn’t even present a defense. He couldn’t find a lawyer to defend what he did.

Uh oh now all lawyers leftist

I hear you, and I’m not saying Jones should be off the hook entirely, but this is an absurd sum of money considering the context of what Jones actually said and did. It is even more absurd in the context of the brazen censorship American Democrats and their partners in the media industry are advancing against their broader set of political opponents.

That’s why I said what I did in my original post. This isn’t meant to send a message to Alex Jones. This is meant to send a message to everyone not named Alex Jones.

The specificity of your opinion is precisely what makes your opinion too narrow-minded. This is not about protecting the honor of dead children. It is about silencing critics of the most powerful human beings to have ever existed.

I don’t think it is. Can you name another defamation case that you think was wrongly won (or awarded excessive damages) against someone criticizing these powerful human beings? I can’t. I can’t even think of one that has been brought before a court.

Defamation case? No, this is the first one that comes to mind. I don’t think it will be the last, hence my concern. Read the article I linked above to see how some of the same clowns I spoke of above already want to see more things like this done and to more people who happen to have large followings, like Bongino.

This bears re-quoting.

What ever happened to that nick sandman Covington catholic stuff? Did they go to trial, settle or dismissed?

They all settled with him.
Must have been a government conspiracy.

2019, after he was being sued.

Gee, thanks.

Had he defended himself in court instead of allowing default judgements against him, perhaps things would be different. The jury didn’t have to consider the context of what he said, only the effects on the plaintiffs.

Sure. But it’s very much unlikely. Which makes it different. Someone getting turned down for a job because someone falsely says, “He’s really, really ridiculously good looking and a stellar athlete,” is also possible. I do NOT think the subject of that name calling would have much of a defamation case.

What does that have to do with character?

Every bit as much as calling someone a crisis actor.
