I’m hosting a powerlifting meet on October 30th under the APU banner (CPU and thus IPF affiliate). This could be an additional option for those interested, we plan on it being a huge meet…I as well as many of our lifters will be competing.

Check it out if interested, everything you need to know is here: Facebook - log in or sign up [/quote]

Doubt I’d be able to make it up the highway to check that out, but it sounds like a good idea.

On another note, the Alberta Weightlifting Provincial Championships will be held in Calgary on November 20. Still a little ways off, but maybe another option for those who couldn’t make the strongman or this powerlifting meet?

Hey fellow Calgarians, I’m working on starting a not for profit gym here in Calgary catering to powerlifters, olympic lifters and strongman. There has been a growing trend of gyms that previously catered to these sports now attempting to push the athletes out, so the goal is to create a place we can train without hassle, and without regular “gym goers” taking up a squat rack for an hour to do bicep curls.

If you’re interested in being a part of the project contact me.
