Death to Jews is a fundemental tenant of Islam, of any kind:
This is from a preacher in Pakistan. “When the Jews are wiped out … the sun of peace [will] begin to rise on the entire world.” The same preaching is routinely done not only by clerics, but by politicians – in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and elsewhere.
In fact, it reminds me of a class I took at the Army War College (yes, “War College”) post 9/11, but pre-PCification of Army teaching re: Islam. One of the days was “Do Muslims really desire the destruction of all Jews? If so, why?”
The panel discussion was primarily pretty dry historians, but included a number of noted theologians, including ex-muslims and secular or cultural muslims.
Long story short, is “yes, they want the Jews dead.” It is at the heart of Islamic theology that world peace will be established only when all the Jews are wiped from the Earth.
Muslims defend Jew-hatred by claiming that Jews betrayed Mohammed and thus deserve
death.
So, why this obsession?
Briefly, Mohammend wanted to create a religion (or perhaps thought he was the messiah).
He was rejected by his own tribe in Mecca (the Quraish), so turned to the Jews in Medina, who let him live in their town.
They got along swell for a while. So, at first, the koran is filled with all this lovey-dovey stuff about Jews. But the Jews rejected him when he proclaimed himself messiah.
When they rejected him, Mohammed simply and completely flipped.
The Quran changed from love to threats and then pure hatred, cursing, and commandments to kill Jews. Like Martin Luther (who attempted to convert Jews to Roman Catholism and then became a vicious anti-semite and even wrote the blue print for the Nazis), the Jews became his primary obsession and focus of hatred.
To make matters worse, the Jews he was railing against were widely respected traders and craftsmen, and quite wealthy. Respected members of arabia. Mo, in contrast, was a brigand who made money robbing people.
In short, the Jews made him look bad. And Mohammed was extremely envious.
So he killed the Jews in Medina. Everyone. Including little kids. All documented in the koran. Basic, senseless, slaughter to get “revenge” and steal their stuff.
This slaughter was not well-received by his own tribe or others, so Mo set out to justify his actions.
In fact, it is obvious to a modern, secular, reader of the koran that Mohammad was a tormented man after the slaughter. (The pyschologist had line-by-line comparisons to Mo and John Wayne Gacy’s writings, showing the parallel justifications for murder.)
Anyway, to summarize a the pyschologist, nuts like other people around them who share the same fantasy. To reduce his torment, he needed everyone around him, as well as future generations, to kill Jews. So he never stopped Jew hatred. In fact, on his deathbed, Mohammed (who had allegedly been poisoned by Jew) ordered Muslims to kill Jews wherever they found them, as a “holy commandment” that, if fulfilled, would grant them untold glory.
