Good to hear a day without vomiting. That’s incredibly frustrating with the Mrs. Allergies aren’t the place for half-assing it.
Hope the wrist heals up soon. A good time to get creative I’m sure. Lots of zercher work.

wanking injury ? @dagill2 knows about these.
You really need to warm up properly before wanking. I recommend starting with the easy stuff before moving on to more challenging wanks.
4/30/2025 Wednesday
OK this is getting bad. I’m worried.
Half mile run on treadmill. E-stopped when I started dry-heaving, managed not to actually vomit, went outside and walked a mile or so.
Got nauseous a little during the walk, but not terribly.
WTF?
Before the Alaska trip, I was going 3x.week with 1-mile-run, 20-min-lift, 1-mile-run and I was pushing the speeds on those runs. On non-gym days it was a 2.3+mile run.
Since Alaska, I’ve got a possible wrist fracture (more on that below) and can barely step on a treadmill without barfing.
WTF.
On the wrist - urgent care didn’t see anything, but my self-tests indicate a fracture of the hamate, which google says commonly goes undiagnosed.
The pain is ridiculous - getting out of bed, steering, opening a door - all kinds of little wrist pressures hurt BAD, plus local pressure on the hamate is like touching a raw nerve.
But more worried about the nausea, obviously.
And a feckin disney trip starting tomorrow means I can’t start any new supplements or see a dr until I get back.
Sending lots of prays your way and a great big bunch of feel better, heal quickly vibes.
I hate to sound negative but it’s my log so here it is.
Now a friggin kids roller coaster at Disneyland can make me barf.
What has happened?
It does actually narrow something down: the nausea isn’t exclusive to exertion.
Dr appointment for the 7th, will see.
You must have walked under a ladder or something awhile back because you’ve had a string of bad luck my man! Hopefully this all gets sorted out and in the rear view soon.
Hoping you get the health issues figured out.
OK, I’m back from another trip. It was good but exhausting. Got in at 10:00 or 10:30 last night and was up at 5 to run a work call at 6:00.
I intend to go to an orthopedics today about my left wrist (they take walkins and do xrays), can figure out what the hell is going on; and tomorrow I’m going to a PA at my primary care doctor’s office to discuss my recurring nausea.
Good news and bad news.
Good: xrays confirm no wrist fracture. Rest, wrap, heal. Very painful and can take weeks, but not going to require any significant intervention.
Bad: finally caught a break and tried surfing. Moderate to low intensity physical activity. About 20 minutes in,
Threw up in the water and hobbled back to shore, heaving and spitting all the way.
Doctor tomorrow. Wife and i are pretty freaked out about this.
Monday 5/7/2025
4.6 mile brisk walk.
Saw my primary dr. They are confused. Hopefully its nothing. Ordered ekg and cbp.
Tuesday 5/8
Got the EKG. Its just 6 seconds of data in a relaxed position lol. Looked fine to the tech.
I’d have wanted a treadmill ekg but they said its not time for that yet. I guess its expensive.
Waiting for blood draw, a little hungry having had only a cup of black coffee and been up for 5 hours.
Hope you are hanging in there.
Am. Not good today though. Will update later.
So, Friday morning, just went for a walk. About 2 miles. Was naseous and heaving twice. Has to slow down and take grandma steps, control my breathing, not panic.
But after?
I painted my home office and mowed the lawn and had sex - no issues at all.
SO EFFING WEIRD AND SCARY.
Haha, good man. Hope you get some answers soon!
Went surfing again, barfed again.
Came home and saw this:
Which means i may have had a heart attack.
I don’t know wtf.
I AI’d that with your symptoms, hopefully you don’t mind, but found the answer interesting
The findings of sinus bradycardia and possible septal infarct on a test (likely an ECG) can potentially be related to the symptoms — but not necessarily. Here’s a breakdown of what those findings mean and how they might relate to nausea and vomiting:
In a fit, healthy person: Very common and often completely normal, especially in athletes. It’s often a sign of high cardiovascular efficiency, not a problem.
Could it relate to nausea? Possibly, especially if the heart rate dips too low and affects blood pressure or perfusion, but it’s generally unlikely in otherwise healthy people unless bradycardia is symptomatic (e.g., dizziness, fainting).
Important note: The word “possible” is critical — ECG results often over-call this, especially in younger individuals. It may be a false positive or artifact.
Would this cause nausea and vomiting? If real and recent, yes — especially if the infarct affects autonomic control or is part of ongoing ischemia. But in a fit 30-something male with no other risk factors, it’s unusual and needs further confirmation (like an echocardiogram or cardiac MRI).
Are the ECG findings related to the nausea/vomiting?
Possibly, but not necessarily. If there is an underlying autonomic dysfunction, vagal tone abnormalities, or a real history of cardiac ischemia, there might be a link.
However, gastrointestinal causes are far more common for chronic nausea and vomiting. That said, in medicine, you always want to rule out serious issues like cardiac problems, especially if the symptoms are unexplained and persistent.
Thank you so much for looking into this. Wife and i are in a spiral.
I guess in the midst of all this, I’ll anticlimactically announce something that is very exciting and I couldn’t be happier about.
I’m changing jobs. New one starts tomorrow and is fully remote.
I’ve had a unique trajectory the past 18 years, and this job is honestly the culmination of all the experience and knowledge I’ve gained from the different industries I’ve worked in.
What I’m feeling like could be happening, is anytime my exertion crosses a certain threshold, I vomit because my heart isn’t accelerating to keep up.
Every time it hits, is when I finally have to take big deep breaths. Then I vomit and my body wants to shut off.
I’m pretty cardiovascularly efficient due to being well trained, so most activities aren’t putting me in that zone.
I’m also starting to think the incident in the coffee shop could have been a heart attack. (14 days ago. Phone won’t let me quote the writeup, weird).
