Affleck is too young to play an older, seasoned version of Batman when we pretty much got that in Nolan’s films.

He is 41.
Im ignorant but what is the older Batman in this universe? 50? 60?
Bale’s Batman was around that age in TDKR. Then there’s the casting of Jeremy ‘slightly-too-young-to-play-Alfred-to-a-middle-aged-Batman’ Irons. They should’ve gone for an older actor to play Batman just about winding up his career, with Alfred dead, then explored his younger years in solo movies. Or have Irons play Alfred in flashback to account for the anachronism. Maybe they just want a butler who’s down with the kids.
They’re basing the script on The Dark Knight Returns, which has Batman come out of retirement to fight endemic crime and the resulting police state with Supes as the poster boy.
It seems like a squandered opportunity, given hollywood’s eagerness to appeal to aging baby boomers (expendibles, red, another awful schwarznagger/willis/whoever movie).

It’s not about age or nostalgia. They’ve squandered more good ideas by pandering to Gen-Twitter, most of whom just buy a ticket so they have somewhere dark and moist to sit and play with their phones for 90 minutes.

The Aquaman rumor seems to have been recently confirmed, with Jason Momoa officially playing the part. Now I’m even more confused how/if they’re going to handle any shared screentime with Affleck and one of the most muscular actors in Hollywood today. Of course, that’s presuming he gets any significant screentime beyond just a quick intro or something.

As stated the suit will cover everything he lacks.
Momoa is one of the most muscular? Really? Now I am sad. I think you meant tallest.
Not saying he’s a behemoth like The Rock, but the dude is still pretty big. It’s obvious he lifts, and I don’t think many would mind having his Physique, especially at 6’4".

Agreed. The fact is that our community is jaded. By most standards, he’s a really big guy.
I would still say that Affleck is not at all physically prepared for his role as Batman.
If Warner Bro’s is going to keep shoehorning characters in, at least throw in Idris Elba as John Stewart and retcon the mess that was the last GL movie. sigh Not a day passes without me thinking about how awesome it would have been if Josh Brolin had been cast and had gone full on tank Batman from The Dark Knight Returns. Or even better, just make make BvS into TDKR

I’d like that.

Doesn’t Aquaman stay in the water?
Ha, I can see it now. Pulling an Austin Powers, strategically having every scene requiring him to be 85% submerged in water.

Nope, one of the most muscular for sure. Like the guys said, in Hollywood, when a big/jacked/built actor needs to be cast, there’s probably Momoa, The Rock, Terry Crews, maybe Vin Diesel from a few years ago, and maybe a very small handful of others. Not counting someone like Batista or The Mountain from GoT who stretch the definition of “actor”, or someone like Hemsworth or Bale who got built pretty much only for certain roles.

Ha, well there’s this:
But another rumor I’ve read is that The Rock may end up as John Stewart. There’s almost-certainty that he’ll be the lead in a DC superhero movie pretty soon. Some people were thinking Black Adam, but Stewart was the latest possible choice.
