But how is that the line, and who gets to decide? I have been there, I am sure that you have also, and someday, our youngsters will deal with the issues of life. It brings you down. you reach for what makes you feel better. we can discuss this all we want, but you know it’s the truth.
you and I have life going pretty well, we’ve done alot of work to make it that way, but you also know that if there is a road bump, like wife shagging the neighbor, and you reach for something that helps to get you through the night.
it happens. I’ve been there.
when you are dealing with shit, sometimes you need something to make you feel better.
batman~
First I am batman you cant be batman.
Second of course if Jlo shagged the neighbor (fucking yuck cause they are both 80) I would grab the bottle for a night, BUT I have been in that place before. I made the decision to not crawl into the bottle cause I know that is not the answer, so I started running instead. Dropped about 30 pounds doing it also.
We all self medicate, and no this is America and he can drink himself into a coma every night if he needs to.
That is the line cause he is reaching out, he would never have started this thread if he didnt think in his heart of hearts that he has a problem and not a habit.

It was really bad for me when I was unemployed.
I am sure that it was not your proudest moment, but alcohol did help to knock the edges off a depressing time in your life, and you (like everything else you do) kicked it in the ass when you didn’t need it anymore, right?

No, actually. It made me too fat to fit into my interview clothes, so I bought more at the discount store. It made me contemplate whether I would ever work again, and if not, perhaps there wasn’t any reason to stick around.
When I finally started working again, I was still chubby, which depressed me. Fortunately, I was able to afford better alcohol and better clothes, so I just drank myself into denial until I decided I missed wearing my cute old clothes.

Great, it’s even worse than I thought. I’m stupid because once I thought about it, I realized you must look great on the surface in spite of your professed heavy drinking. You’re like the NASCAR driver who goes into the Ricer Forums telling all the wannabee Ricers in there that it’s perfectly OK to drag race at 100 mph 'cause you’ve done it countless times and it’s no big thang. Maturity, my friend.
Any pictures of the liver by any chance. Just thought in for a penny…
You eat healthily, work out, but knock back a half case of beer a day? Eating healthily generally ain’t cheap. Neither is a twelver of beer per day, even shitty beer. Not only is there enough cognitive dissonance here to skullfuck Freud’s corpse awake, but if you’ve got enough money to blow on a push-pull like this while getting nowhere, you shouldn’t have to worry about being unemployed. Hell. it’s not even getting nowhere, it’s slowly circling the drain, only you’re a little further away from the hole than meth heads, gambling addicts and prisoners of war.
No one would post this here unless a little voice were telling them they had a problem, so just stop. People do it all the time. Twelve a day isn’t even enough to cause serious trouble with withdrawal, so either man the fuck up and cold turkey the shit or find a way to speed up the process. Languishing in half-alcoholic limbo is for pussies.
So OP, I think the choice is now clear: you gotta man up. Start getting serious about your drinking and switch to vodka or something hard , or quit. Cold turkey.
What say you?

you left out the option of turning tricks for heroin.

we haven’t even explored that yet!
Shit! You Vikings, always with the road less explored…
Good call.

Okay question how did you determine this?
Are you in the medical field, cause sorry but a 12 pack a day can lead to withdrawal, it has nothing to do with the amount per say but the persons body composition and liver function.
