Advice Please

I make my own pre workout by just ordering the individual ingredients. Would you take anything out or add anything to what I am alread doing? Money is kind of a limiting factor

Orange Gatorade Mix 1/2 scope
Creapure creatine 3 grams
Citrilline Malate 5 grams
Beta-Alanine 5 grams
Caffeine 100 mg
Arginine AKG 6 grams
Agmatine 600 mg

Not bad. Could probably drop the AKG as it hasnt shown to do much of anything. I’d add in some protein in the form of hydroslate or BCAA’s to that stack though.

I like creatine and caffeine and some carbs are great before workouts but you are majoring in the minors here.
Your 18, if your hub is correct, so spend your limited budget on food. Creatine and caffeine are cheap so I guess that is a good bang-for-your-buck but the rest is a waste in my opinion.

Thanks for the reply, what kind of carb source do you use?

I’ve recently started using dextrose, hydrolysed casein and leucine pre/during workout and it’s been much better for recovery than just whey after. I use 5-10grams leucine, 25grams hydrolysed casein and change the amount of dextrose based on how much I’m going to be doing in the gym.

You think leucine is a must? I know its important but I think its a little pricey, but if it works its worth it.

There is NO MUST. If you need a kick pre, keep the caffeine or bump up depending on tolerance. As you have money issues IMO drop everything else. Perhaps save your money for whey/fish oil depending on your diet.

I wouldn’t say it’s a must but I’ve seen it recommended by some smart people. I don’t think it’s that expensive where I get it (competitor here in the UK so I won’t post a link) and I only use a small amount. 1kg costs me £22.79 which is roughly $35 so at about £0.15 a serving I’m going to keep it in.

If I could do it all again at 18 I’d take creatine, whey, fish oil and some sort of stimulant when needed. From my experience 18YO won’t take this advice MEH.

I found that creatine didn’t really help me much whereas what I laid out above has. I agree on fish oil and the use of whey if you can’t get enough protein from solid food though. For the record, I’m 19 and I agree that most other 17/18/19 year olds are useless when it comes to supplementation. More is not always better.
