I’ve got an aunt and uncle who are incredibly out of shape (not just physically on the outside, but lots of self-inflicted health problems on the inside too) that LOVE to tell me all about how bad it is to eat too much protein, lift heavy weights, etc.
The reason why they think they’re experts? Because my aunt’s sister teaches Tae Kwon Do…
You should tell them that you supplement bill is less than their prescription co-pay.
I hate it when fucking type II diabetics try to criticize the way I eat or exercise. I think “You know what bitch? Even nature has gone out of it’s way to tell you that you’re a lazy sack of shit with no self-control by making you PISS SYRUP.”

“You’re clogging up your arteries with all of that meat.”
“It’s not safe to be lifting so much weight, it’s about time for you to get a lighter weight and do a lot of reps.”
“Six eggs every morning isn’t good for you. Your cholestorol is going to get too high.”
I used to get a lot of crap from my family, but thankfully they’ve grown to accept my new lifestyle.
One of my managers, who I swear is a size 2, got a trainer so she could get “ab definition.” He has her lifting weights, including deadlifts. I asked her how much she did and she said not a lot because she doesn’t want her arms to get all muscular.
“Don’t gain to much muscle or it will turn to fat.”, “Doesn’t matter what food it is only calories matter for losing fat/weight.”, “Sugar only has 15 calories per tsp. so that’s all i put in my shakes to avoid the fat.”, “Your drinking whole milk, you should be drinking 2% or skim.”, “omgosh limit how many eggs you eat you don’t want high cholesterol.”, “Sugar is not bad for you but limit your fat intake.”
Being told these things by people i who should know better and didn’t expect it from but do anyways.
From co-workers (some) who have seen me add 22kg over the last year and half
“Why do you want to gain so much weight?”
answer; “Cause I can”.
“When are you going to stop?”
answer; “I’m not”.
From my mum
“I don’t want you getting any bigger”
answer; “I’m sorry Mum, I love you”
From my friends (they all train too)
“Get bigger motherfucker!”
“Why aren’t your arms 50cm yet?”
“Bring your chest up more!”
“I like your back, but learn how to do a lat spread!”
Very motivational friends I have
And the finale,
THE WIFE
“This is just stupid, you’re massive, I don’t want you getting any bigger”
answer; “You like that I’m warmer in bed at night, you like that there is more of me to cuddle on, and you want to help me shop for a new wardrobe with more custom fitted clothing to show off my physique”

I really wish people would shut the hell up about things they know nothing about. It’s bad enough when some dumbass in the gym comes up and tells me that deadlifts are going to “kill my back” and that I should be using machines.[/quote]
I really thought this one was a myth, but I get his comment once a week, always from a different guy, and it makes me wonder if my form is REALLY FUCKED or they are just fucking dumb, but it’s always a fat old guy and his reasoning is “I hurt my back doing those before”
“Your butt is going to get bigger if you do heavy deadlifts.” GOOD! My ass can get as big as it wants to, as long as it’s muscle. And for the record, no, I don’t want “long lean muscles, like a dancer’s body.” I want to have tits and ass. TITS AND ASS, OK!

marry me.
Seriously though, I have NEVER had a problem with people saying anything to me. I’ve had tons of friends ask my advice on topics. They won’t follow it, but still. Most people have noticed that I’ve gained about 25 lbs. this most recent bulk. The extent I got was from my gf, who said “you’re not as svelt as you used to be” my reply “Wait til I start my cut”.

-You are too obsessed with your diet/exercise.
-Low carb diet? OMFG you will get teh heartattackz so not healthy!!111!!!11
-You spend too much money on supplements.
-You do not need to lose the weight, or gain any more muscle.
-You will die from all of the cholesterol in those eggs.
-If you do deadlifts, you will get pregnant, and you will die.
A teenage guy who has shhhhrrrrreeedddddeed abs was doing some ab work and this middle aged guy with a big gut (like size 52 waist-and maybe 35% BF) went over to tell him how to do abs right. The kid was doing pretty good, and was fighting a smirk as the old guy was giving him pointers.
The biggest mouths are almost always the most pathetic.
I don’t listen to out of shape people, don’t take them seriously, and shut them up if they try to give me advice.
Actually, I don’t give advice to them either, because in 99% of the cases, they’re not going to change anyway, and the other 1% will learn what they need to do without me anyway.
No one gives me advice. besides the eggs comment, from my mom. Stopped eating eggs though, gives me the worst shits, and makes me feel bloated.
The past three times I’ve gone shopping someone at checkout always ask me, “You having a BBQ.” Just because I bought 18lbs of meat doesn’t mean I’m having a BBQ. ehhh
