UNless you’re freakishly big in the arms, or your basic frame, I’ll wager that you need to get larger overall. I’m about 5’9, and my arms didn’t reach 18" until my bodyweight was up around 215 lbs (moving some serious weight in my compound lifts).
Considering you have no info posted in your profile, no pics, and you’re rationalizing your ‘question’ with the weights you use for curls and pressdowns, I doubt you’re a muscular 17.5".
There’s a huge difference between a solid, muscular, BIG arm, and a pile of shit hanging off the shoulder of some fat dude who likes going to the gym and impressing people.

Rofl! I know the kind bro! Yeah I’m a 300lber he says but he is pretty much obese but calls it bulking. Trey Brewer fits the bill too except his actually pretty down to earth!

That’s a nomination for “Strong Words” right there.[/quote]
Stu FTW. The arms, more than any other body part I’ve noticed, have the tendency (when big, muscular, and lean) to look like they are just seconds away from popping out of the skin. Its truly a beautiful look if one can achieve it.
heavy chinups

You really need advice for another 1/2 inch? Obviously if you got them to 17.5 you should be able to manage another 1/2 inch from training them hard and eating more.
