I don’t know if it’s useful posting continued labs for other people, but in case it is:
Taken 6/29/2023 -
RBC: 6.05 (H)
Hemoglobin: 16.5 (3.2-17.1 g/dL)
HCT: 48.8%
MCV: 80.7 (80-10fL)
MCH: 27.3 (27.0-33.0 pg)
MCHC: 33.8 (32.0-36.0 g/dL)
RDW: 18.4 (11.0-15.0 %) (H)
Iron, Total: 103 (50-180 mcg/dL)
Ferritin: 33 (38-380 ng/mL) (L)
TIBC: 414 (250-425 mcg/dL)
% SAT: 25 (20-48 %)
So there’s progress. I just didn’t realize it would be this slow.
I thought the infusions alone would get my ferritin up in the bottom end of normal range, but apparently not. As a result of my wrong presumption, some days I’ve been more slack about taking my iron - never zero, but there have been days I only took one of the 325mg prescription pills with some ACV and Vit-C gummies. Apparently I should have been slamming this stuff until I’m leaking Guinness.
I do feel significantly better, but far from energetic. This is apparently a long, slow battle. I know at my size my requirements are probably going to be abnormal? I’m 6’7", 280-285, (and should be closer to 245-250 with the amount of lean mass I have)
Dangerous as this condition is for the heart, and with tall dudes having LVH tendencies already, everything non-iron I’ve been focused on CV health, and improving lipids. I’ve been off of adex for ~2 weeks now, loaded up on niacin (the real stuff), fish oil, NAC, nattokinase, 5mg tadalafil, and…controversially, cardarine.
Sad thing is I can’t treat the thyroid until the iron is sorted, and I have an endo appointment for that on July 10th.
