Oh I definitely work legs, just can’t squat. I do Leg press, leg and hamstring curls, and I deadlift. Just can’t do anything where I squat. Can’t run, but I walk on the treadmill at high elevations. Was told I might have a torn meniscus.
I don’t squat and my leg press is limited not by strength but by the overall load that my knee can handle (which is maybe 250 on a good day). So I do limited leg training and instead use my finite supply of good knee days for cardio-related stuff (stair climber, LISS elliptical or treadmill, et al). I’m ok with it, by the way. I don’t need a monster squat in order to be satisfied with my workouts. If I could wave a magic wand and make my knees better I would do it. But I don’t sweat it because as long as I can still get at least three cardio sessions in every week I’m happy.
Started the Deca today. Doctor gave 1ml Deca (which I believe is 200 iu’s) along with 230 iu’s of cypionate. Will update as to my progress! Wondering how long it takes to see any effects, I’m hoping soon!
Took me five weeks to notice any changes in how I felt. That’s typical for deca, because of the very slow breakdown of the ester.
What was your dosage?
100mg/w for what ended up being 14 weeks.
Noticed a very small bruise where the injection was made, not tender or anything. Down 2 lbs this morning, and noticed heart rate seemed to be higher the day of injection, but seems normal now.
As suggested above I did look at my E2 numbers and it was low, below 15…assuming maybe I should lay off the anastrozole for a few weeks and see what happens?
Started second week yesterday. Maybe it’s placebo, but can tell noticeable reduction in my knee pain. I went jogging, and for the first time in years the next day I was able to walk without a limp. Still some stiffness but really is a night and day difference.
Also noticed I’ve gained about 5lbs, guessing this could be water retention? I gained about 10lbs when I began Cypionate injections, and it took my body about two months to adjust, then I lost the water weight a few weeks afterward. Has anyone noticed water retention with Deca?
Week three began today. Not doing a whole lot of cardio still, but when I do pain the next day is more stiffness as opposed to actual pain.
Also noticed my weight loss has stopped, but I’m looking better in the mirror and making strength gains. Still have not tried to squat, but my goal is to do that this week. Will try a light front squat and see how my knees respond.
How much nandrolone are you taking? With knee pain I do find it helps if I get blood running to my quads before I go for a jog or leg press
200 mgs. Someone else did recommends that above, so I am doing that. Began with leg curls and hamstring curls, then deadlifts, leg press last. That was just yesterday afternoon and noticing no pain yet this morning!
Whoops, didn’t see that. Anyhow his advice is more valuable than mine, follow his advice.
Thought you may have been being sarcastic, but then I looked at his posts LOL. Sorry, pretty new to the site and training in general!
nah I’m dead serious, he is, in my opinon, the single handedly the most helpful and most knowledgable member on this entire forum.
I looked at his deca cycle thread and found it very informative. Guess I need to reconsider my arimidex EOD? I’m going to ask my doctor about Novaldex and see if that’s an option.
There is documented evidence of extra benefit to joints and tendons now. Beyond testosterone cypionate: evidence behind the use of nandrolone in male health and wellness - PMC
Other studies show that nandrolone can dramatically speed the healing of tendon injuries, even rotator cuff shoulder injuries. http://www.unc.edu/news/archives/jun04/anabolic062404.html
Other steroid experts have said that Nandrolone replenishes synovial fluid.
I’ve heard some say as low as 50mg/week along with your regular TRT (taking Nandrolone alone can lead to ED). My joints aren’t bad though. I have a joint injury and noticed benefit at 125mg weekly after 1 week. Those with experience say that it takes about six weeks to see benefits though… so maybe it was placebo for me.
My prescribed TRT is 200mg cypionate weekly, so I only do 100mg with the 125mg of Deca. No ED problems that way.
FYI, it won’t convert into active forms of DHT and has only an average 20% conversion into estrogen. IHowever, nandrolone also has progestin activity, so it could potentially cause estrogen-like side effects, such as gynecomastia.
The half life for Deca is long, 15 days, so you could actually inject it bi-weekly at double the dose.
Deca also produces metabolites that can be found in drug testing procedures as long as two years following the discontinuation of the drug.
had a knee replacement. i stick to lunges/weighted lunches and weighted step ups. Easier to bail on these lifts if things go south and generally produce similar benefits to squatting imo.
