Adding Calories

I was wondering how many calories you should add for every lb of lean body mass you gain. Say you gain 10 lbs of lean body mass, how much would u increase your calories to keep gaining weight?

Your food intake isn’t just based on your weight. It is based on your metabolism, activity level, and even age as well. That means the answer is, as many calories as it takes for you to gain weight.

While this is true, you can attempt to narrow it down. Look through Beradi’s Massive Eating Articles. You’re accounting for lean body mass and your exercise + activity level with his formula. It will provide you with a starting point. But Professor X is right, too. Once you get that starting appoint, you’ll have to adjust based on what’s actually happening. I’ve upped the calories some from what I caluclated with Berardi’s formula, and I’m gaining mass.

Yea, i was just wondering though if a lb of muscle burns a certain amount of calories, so you would add x amount more calories to keep gaining but i guess its not that easy, lol
