AD Question

I’ve been doing the AD diet intro phase for 3weeks but i havnt felt any bad side effects yet and i actually enjoy eating the high fat because it taste good. I’ve experienced some weightloss( about 4lbs) but its probably just water and i kept under 30grams of carbs.

Was i suppose to have bad effects like head aches, fatigue, etc? Or does it just mean i’m lucky and my body is fat adapted?

And if i am fat adapted then can i just go ahead and carb up this weekend?

Since it’s reported to take several months for full fat adaptation, I’d say that extending the 12 day introductory CHO depletion period would be detrimental to your health, and, so, counterproductive to your goals.

If you’ve been CHO depleting for 31days, I recommend you start your CHO load days immediately.

I doubt that your body is fully fat adapted, you are just “lucky,” or, perhaps, you’ve not recognized some “hidden” CHO in your diet.

Logically, if the AD represents a big change in your eating habits, you would expect some type of changes/side effects in your biochemistry. I suppose, however, these don’t have to be severe or “bad.” Everyone is different. Just stick to the plan, without alteration, and it will play itself out.

Ahhh darn it! I read the article wrong, i thought i was suppose to stay in the intro phase for 10days to 4weeks!!! I’ll be buying the book soon…

The intro is 12 days. You typically start on a Monday and first CHO is the second Saturday.
